The highly anticipated Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino, the first in Las Vegas to offer an authentic Asian gaming, dining and lifestyle experience, is now open to the public. The property commemorated the milestone with a Grand Opening Celebration held on Saturday, Dec. 3.
The celebration began at 2:30 p.m. PT as the booming sound of taiko drummers called Lucky Dragon guests out to the porte-cochere where the festivities took place. After a half-hour demonstration, the executive team from Lucky Dragon joined the celebration for the traditional dragon and lion eye-opening ceremony and dragon and lion dances. Last night, Las Vegas’ most buzzed-about new production MAGIC MIKE LIVE celebrated its opening night at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino with a star-studded performance in its custom designed showroom, Club Domina. The show, based on the hit films Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL and conceived and co-directed by Channing Tatum, brought audiences to its feet on the first night of its open-ended run in Las Vegas.
Following the show, the cast and creative team returned to the stage for an encore performance of Fatman Scoop’s “Be Faithful,” joined by the show’s co-director and producer Channing Tatum and wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum. Tatum then shared a few words with the packed venue, thanking the crowd and friends and family in attendance for joining the cast and creative team for their highly-anticipated opening night performance.

As of this weekend, the City of Essen is officially the European Green Capital. The Lord Mayor of Essen Thomas Kufen launched the title year together with the EU Environment Commissioner Karmenu Vella during a creative orchestrated stage show. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® officials and guests today marked the opening of the St. Jude Red Frog Events Proton Therapy Center, the first proton therapy center in the world dedicated solely to children with cancer.
Patients are now being treated at the center using precisely delivered, high-energy particles called protons to kill or shrink tumors while minimizing damage to healthy tissue and organs. For patients with brain tumors and certain other cancers, research suggests proton beam therapy may be more effective than conventional radiation at preventing the growth and spread of tumors while reducing the risk of treatment-related side effects.
