So the 6-foot-3, 305-pound offensive lineman looks for mathematics in everyday life for mental stimulation, and he’s asking you to do the same. Known as some of the toughest men in the country, the lumberjack lifestyle has been a part of American culture for over a century, reaching as many as 500,000 lumberjacks in the forests of Maine and Minnesota in the early 1900s. However, the lumberjacks many people think of today are not the typical axe throwing, wood chopping or crosscut sawing burly men of the logging world, rather, they are now typically spotted in a fitted flannel and trendy lace-up boots with freshly trimmed beards to match: the lumbersexuals.
As part of the Dinty Moore® brand campaign to bring back the true lumberjack, Hormel Foods went to the depths of Minnesota in search of a team of lumbersexuals to transform into real lumberjacks and, ultimately, compete in a professional lumberjack competition this summer. The brand is partnering with STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® and professional lumberjack Adrian Flygt to train the lumbersexuals in core areas of logging and forestry, giving them the necessary skills to walk, talk and compete like a lumberjack.

As the most-visited travel destination in the United States, the Orlando tourism community was quickly up and running post-Hurricane Irma, hosting eager visitors from around the world. The new edition of the Habanos Festival will feature an outstanding international musical line-up. For five whole days, from the 29th of February to the 4th of March, this annual event dedicated to Habano cigars will gather more than 1,500 attendees from over 50 countries that will discover this year’s major launches in an exclusive and inspiring setting.
The Welcome Event, dedicated to the Hoyo de Monterrey Reserva Cosecha 2012, will have Alexander Abreu, renowned trumpet player, composer and winner of a Latin Grammy, and his group Havana D’Primera to close the evening. The Smithsonian’s Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation will open its first permanent public home—the Lemelson Hall of Invention and Innovation—at the National Museum of American History July 1. The Hall will feature “Places of Invention,” a signature 3,500 square-foot exhibition examining hotspots of invention throughout history; Draper Spark!Lab, a hands-on space for children aged 6 to 12; and “Inventive Minds,” a small gallery that will introduce the work of the Lemelson Center.

Rwanda is celebrating and believe me they
have a lot to celebrate after 20 years of peace! Exact numbers killed
are of course difficult to verify but it likely well over a million
people, which for a country as tiny as Rwanda is about 1 in 5. We do
know that at least 500,000 people were killed in a mere 100 days after
the assassination of Juvénal Habyarimana and Cyprien Ntaryamira on
April 6 through mid-July in 1994. It\\\'s also quite
difficult to guess the exact start date of the genocide because the
definition of genocide wasn\\\'t even recognized internationally until
1948. I would personally put the start of their troubles at 1933 when
the then ruling Belgians organized a census and mandated that everyone
be issued an identity card classifying them as either Tutsi, Hutu, or
Twa. This, then started the tensions that led to an eventual
genocide. Many people are familiar with Rwanda both because of it\\\'s
unusual name and the association with the famous fact based movie

The announcement today coincides with National School Spirit Day, which was recognized by Congress last year.
“Our students feel connected to Vista Murrieta and have an engrained sense of school pride,” said Mick Wager, Principal of Vista Murrieta, “The family atmosphere and sense of community is apparent and genuine.”
High schools across the country were invited to enter the contest, which called for each school to submit a 90-second video, a 500-word essay, two letters of recommendation and several photos demonstrating its school spirit. High schools from 33 states were represented in the contest. Vista Murrieta’s video submission won based on a nationwide vote and included footage from games, pep rallies, and student activities that epitomize a robust school spirit environment that seeks to include all students. Vista Murrieta estimates that 85% of their students are involved in at least one activity, club or sport, and their video was a true testament to the power of school spirit and its effects on high school students.
