Today Evergreen Packaging, with support from KidsGardening.org, announces the launch of the second annual Carton 2 Garden contest, a nation-wide competition inviting K-12 students to repurpose milk and juice cartons to build creative gardens or enhance their schools’ existing garden. The Carton 2 Garden Program promotes hands-on teaching, with opportunities for building important problem solving and life skills, and awards more than $25,000 in prizes to schools across the country. This initiative underscores Evergreen Packaging’s on-going commitment to raise awareness about the importance of eco-friendly packaging.

According to the Epocrates 2014 Mobile Trends Report, the presence of “digital omnivores,” a clinician regularly using digital devices including tablets, smartphones and computers, was 41 percent in 2014 and was predicted to increase to 74 percent in 2015. One of the biggest surges was expected to come from tablet usage, going from 45 percent in 2014 to 80 percent in 2015. Withstanding the apparent increase in touchscreen device usage in healthcare, a June 2015 study in the American Journal of Infection Control stated that proper protocols are lacking to address sensitive surfaces like touchscreen devices.
“Healthcare facilities are advancing everyday and it’s vital that we, as infection prevention leaders, are aware of the changes that are happening and able to adapt quickly. Mountain Dew® and Dale Earnhardt Jr. brought “The Dark Knight Rises” to Brooklyn, Michigan for a few laps on Thursday, June 14. Earnhardt, who will be driving a special No. 88 Diet Mountain Dew/“The Dark Knight Rises”-inspired Chevrolet in Sunday’s race, tested at the two-mile track before going alongside Batman’s iconic Tumbler during demonstration laps around the speedway.
“I’m excited to finally get the No. 88 Diet Mountain Dew ‘The Dark Knight Rises’-inspired Chevrolet out on the track,” said Earnhardt, driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports. “And it was cool to draft with the Dark Knight Tumbler.”

When I think of “Country”, I think of holding onto things passed down, going to Grandma and Grandpa’s on Sundays to watch TV and socialize as a family, playing Kick the Can with anyone who could still run, picking a guitar under an old oak tree surrounded by farm land, but more importantly ~ family. If you are a country music fan, it has more than likely influenced your life and to many, a large part of it. Country music to me is about the good stuff, telling stories, and life in general. Not making a political statement, but I would like to see Country Music take a step closer to its roots… even if only a small step.
