Das neuentwickelte Stoffverdeck lässt sich auch von Minustemperaturen und Schmuddelwetter nicht beeindrucken.
Only 1 minicar out of 11 tested achieves an acceptable rating in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's small overlap front crash test, making these tiny vehicles the worst performing group of any evaluated so far.
The Chevrolet Spark's acceptable rating in the test, along with good ratings in the Institute's four other crashworthiness evaluations, earns the new minicar a 2014 TOP SAFETY PICK award. The Spark was among the initial award winners announced in December. The new small overlap test results for the rest of the minicar group mean that no other models in this size category join the Spark in the winner's circle yet.
PUMA kicked off its 2014 Nature of Believing campaign, with the launch of the revolutionary new evoPOWER football boot at a live event in Barcelona last Friday. PUMA Power players Cesc Fàbregas, Marco Reus and Mario Balotelli put their football skills to the test on the evoPOWER wall, the custom built football simulator that utilises Hawk Eye technology to measure players’ power and accuracy. evoPOWER was inspired by the freedom of movement of a bare foot – Fàbregas, Reus and Balotelli showcased their skills and the boots performance enhancing technology through four interactive challenges.

drivers to the test in the Attention Powered Car to see just how

We took the Attention Powered Car on the world's longest inattention road test and we discovered that on average our drivers lost attention at least once every minute.
The Attention Powered Car then headed back to the RAC Driving Centre where further tests were conducted to investigate initial findings from the road trip.
In this new webisode we explore the effects a passenger can have on a driver's attention levels and ways in which passengers might help drivers regain or keep attention behind the wheel.

Twenty-two vehicles earn the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's highest safety award for 2014, TOP SAFETY PICK+, thanks to a high level of protection in crashes and the availability of front crash prevention technology to avoid many collisions in the first place. An additional 17 earn TOP SAFETY PICK by meeting the crashworthiness criteria alone.
IIHS is using new criteria for the awards this year. TOP SAFETY PICK requires good performance in the Institute's moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests and, for the first time, good or acceptable performance in the small overlap front test introduced in 2012. The same level of performance in those tests, along with at least a basic rating for front crash prevention, is required for the higher accolade, TOP SAFETY PICK+.

Nur der vom mystischen Fabelwesen aus dem Himalaya geborgte Name versprühte ein wenig Extravaganz. Ansonsten gab sich der Allradler bewusst bodenständig und glänzte – typisch für Skoda eben – mit hohem Nutzwert. Eine Grundeigenschaft, die bei dem jetzt grundlegend überarbeiteten Modell natürlich beibehalten wurde. Der fast kantig modellierte Yeti dürfte zwar trotz neuer Front und neuem Heck nach wie vor keinen renommierten Designer-Auto-Preis erringen, wirkt jedoch auch dank der neuen Leuchtengrafik und stärker ausgeformter Radhäuser freundlich und dynamisch. Die unterhalb der Front, an den Seiten und am Heck angebrachte Kunststoffverkleidung, die das Blech vor Beschädigungen beim Ausritt ins Gelände schützt, erzeugt zudem Off Road-Look, ohne übertrieben zu wirken. Die erstmals angebotene Outdoor-Variante unterscheidet sich dabei gegenüber dem Stadt-Yeti dadurch, dass diese Teile in schwarz gehalten sind. Das sieht nicht nur urig aus.

Child restraint manufacturers continue to roll out new booster seats that do a good job of improving the way an adult safety belt fits a typical booster-age child. This year, 19 of 31 new models evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety earn the top rating of BEST BET, and one model is a GOOD BET.
The Institute began rating boosters five years ago because research indicated that most seats weren’t doing a good job of fitting safety belts correctly and consistently on children in a variety of vehicles. Boosters earn a rating of BEST BET, GOOD BET, Check Fit or Not Recommended, based on a protocol that involves measuring how three-point lap and shoulder belts fit a child-size test dummy seated in the booster on a stationary test fixture under four conditions that span the range of safety belt configurations in passenger vehicles. The evaluations focus on safety belt fit and don’t involve crash tests.
Der ADAC hat insgesamt 150 Waschstraßen und sogenannte Portalanlagen bundesweit getestet. Resultat: Waschstraßen waschen besser als sogenannte Portalanlagen. Die beste Waschstraße heißt „Soft Wash Park“ und ist in Magdeburg. Diese Anlage schneidet mit der Gesamtnote „sehr gut“ (1,5) ab. Im Durchschnitt bekommen die Waschstraßen die Note „gut“. Die Portalanlagen - ein „Tor“ mit Waschelementen fährt bei dieser Art der Säuberung über das stehende Fahrzeug und zurück - kommen nur auf einen Notenschnitt von 3,6, sind also nur „ausreichend“. Weder eine Portalwaschanlage (66 wurden getestet), noch eine der 84 geprüften Waschstraßen fällt im Test durch. Allerdings ist auch keine Portalanlage dabei, die ein „gut“ oder „sehr gut“ schafft. Die wichtigste Testkategorie ist die „Waschleistung“.
