Two-thirds of children living in poverty have no books at home, according to the 2010 RIF study. That's why Kellogg's® has teamed up with Scholastic as well as dad, children's book author and actor Taye Diggs to give kids great starts with great stories by placing 200,000 books into home libraries, schools and local communities. There are two ways to help:
1. Collect Kellogg's Great Starts Great Stories codes from participating Kellogg's products to receive a free book or

The KILL A GAJILLION GERMS campaign starts July 15, 2013 with moms, dads and schools pledging to KILL A GAJILLION GERMS to support healthy habits with the chance to win free PURELL, dispensers and hand hygiene educational materials for their school along with individual prizes. In 2011 we started out as a non-profit organization in Shreveport, Louisiana. We’ve since begun dedicating ourselves to helping those in the Memphis, Tennessee, area with job preparation training and utility payment assistance. We operate a youth development program that collects school uniforms, coats and supplies for children who are in need – and that’s only the beginning. We also offer Bible study for those who desire to be nourished by the everlasting Word.

Research shows that success in school and life starts with literacy. When children become good readers in the early grades, they are more likely to become better learners throughout their school years and beyond. In a nationwide effort to communicate to parents the importance of reading to their school-aged children, the Library of Congress and the Ad Council have teamed up with Reading is Fundamental (RIF) to launch a new national public service advertising (PSA) campaign, “Book People Unite.”
