“A broad river is in waves, the rice flowers are sweet smelling over the banks…” On August 1, Chinese Army Day, an eye-catching ‘Flash Mob’ took place at Ginza Square, Tokyo, three Chinese young men, with deep affection, performing a ‘Red Song’ My Motherland, one of the classic songs written in praise of the Communist Party of China.
As they said, to fulfill their shared promise made five years ago, these three youngsters travelled a long distance from Nanchang, ‘the City of Heroes’ of China, gathering in Japan to express their patriotism and affection for their home country in the form of singing red song chorus. Accompanying their singing was an official promo of Nanchang displayed on the huge screen at the back of them. As images of Nanchang’s unique landmarks like the Monument of Nanchang Uprising, Tengwang Pavilion and the Twin Tower flittered one by one, their melody brought passersby, especially overseas Chinese back to that heroic city which, 90 years ago, once gave birth to the first authentic people’ army led by the Communist Party of China.

Uber-cool Swiss watch brand TAG Heuer will mark the start of the world’s first electric car race season on 31st August with a king-sized VIP party in Beijing, home of the new championship’s electrifying season opener.
The event officially inaugurates the pioneering Swiss brand’s latest adventure in motor-racing, which starts 13 September in Beijing, and closes 27 June, 2015 in London. TAG Heuer is the Official Watch, Partner and Timekeeper of the FIA Formula E Championship for all ten events, a role it has played several times over the decades, for major motor-racing series and circuit around the world, from Formula One in the 1970s to Indy 500 in 20XX and the Monaco Grand Prix today.

Honey Bunches of Oats is launching a new 360-degree marketing campaign to encourage fans to rethink the classic cereal, which has two varieties – Honey Roasted and Almond – among the top 10 favorite cereals in America. The new “THIS. IS. EVERYTHING.™” campaign celebrates the multiplicity of the product, from the crispy flakes to the crunchy granola oat clusters and the sweet touch of honey, while emphasizing a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats is greater than the sum of its parts. Multiple touchpoints are being utilized to bring the fully integrated campaign to life in order to engage consumers in person, online, offline and on multiple screens. Across all marketing levers, the work interweaves memes from social media and pop culture references to tell the brand story and allow consumers to play with and make the content their own.
The campaign kicks off with new commercial spots hitting airwaves in August. Two versions of the commercial were created specifically to engage both General and Hispanic audiences. On August 3rd, LifeRide commenced with contemporary artist José Parlá, in partnership with RxArt, with an unveiling of original work by Parlá at Incarnation Children’s Center (ICC). ICC is New York City’s only skilled nursing facility providing specialized care for youth living with HIV/AIDS.

Food Network competition series Food Network Star returns for an eleventh season this summer, with a cast of twelve talented hopefuls competing to become the next new face in food television. Kiehl’s Since 1851, the 166-year-old skincare company, has used its fleet of iconic motorcycles to raise funds and awareness for AIDS research and awareness for the eighth year in a row. Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR, a charitable motorcycle ride from Minneapolis to Nashville, July 31 to Aug. 7, has already raised more than $125,000 for amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research and fundraising will continue through August.
Kiehl’s President Chris Salgardo and amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost led the 1,200 mile, 8-day journey, accompanied by actors Tyler Posey, Gilles Marini and Ian Bohen, tattoo artist Luke Wessman, and TV hosts Anthony Carrino and Grant Reynolds. Over eight days, the riders participated in nine public events, meeting customers and educating about HIV/AIDS research.

The beach may be sunny right now, but the real summer hot-spot is at car dealerships. That’s where consumers can get scorching deals on new vehicles, specifically in August, according to TrueCar.com.
While common wisdom is that December is the best time to buy a car, TrueCar data shows the average price for buying a vehicle in August is more than $150 lower than any other month. That’s $500 lower, on average, than the rest of the year. And it’s more than $1,000 lower than December, which actually has the highest monthly transaction price.
