In 2011, PetSafe® brand launched its nationwide Bark for Your Park program to help communities build their own off-leash dog parks. In order to help even more communities this year, PetSafe brand is restructuring the contest into a grant-giving program and increasing the number of awards from five to 25.
“In the past five years, we’ve given away over $850,000 to communities to build dog parks of their own, but now we want to help communities during every stage of development,” said Tracy Mulder, marketing manager, PetSafe brand. “Our new Bark for Your Park program is expanding to not only help break ground on new parks, but also help fund maintenance and improvements for existing parks.”
Communities can submit a grant application now through June 30, 2016 on www.petsafe.net/barkforyourpark. The applications will be reviewed by an internal committee and PetSafe brand will award five new park grants valuing $25,000 each, 10 park makeover grants valuing $10,000 each, and 10 park maintenance grants valuing $5,000 each. This year’s award recipients will receive a combination of funds and commercial-grade dog park equipment from UltraSite, a PlayCore Company. The winning communities will be announced over a 5-week period during August through September.

Und bietet zu einem Mehrpreis von 1.775 Euro erheblich mehr Stauvolumen – in der Standard-Konfiguration mit 605 Litern immerhin 225 Liter mehr. Wer sich sicher ist, dass das Auto stets nur mit maximal zwei Personen besetzt ist und weder längere Urlaubsreisen noch ständig größere Einkäufe bei einem Baumarkt anfallen, dürfte sich die Mehrkosten sparen. Doch schon bei einer vierköpfigen Familie könnte der Variant eine Überlegung wert sein, zumal der Kombi sich weitaus stärker als das Schrägheck-Modell von seinem Vorgänger unterscheidet. Er ist mit 4,56 Metern nicht nur um 30 Zentimeter länger als der Basis-Golf, sondern auch gegenüber dem Vorgänger länger, breiter und niedriger geworden und wirkt schon aufgrund dieser „schärferen“ Proportionen sportlicher und markanter. In dieses Bild passt das neue Design. Perfektion im Detail spiegeln dabei markante Elemente wie die D-Säulen wider. Den Designern ist es hier gelungen, die wie die Sehne eines Bogens mit eingesetztem Pfeil gespannte Form der für den Golf so typischen C-Säulen auf die D-Säulen des Variant zu übertragen. Bis zum Abschluss der vorderen Türen folgt der Variant zwar der präzisen Linienführung des Golf Schrägheckmodells. Ab den B-Säulen entwickelt sich dann allerdings der eigenständigste und auch optisch dynamischste Golf Variant seit Bestehen der Baureihe.
Seeking to support men and their loved ones facing the challenges that come with a diagnosis of prostate cancer, USA Rugby, the Australian Rugby Union and Astellas Pharma have partnered to launch the #pass4prostate challenge, a social media campaign designed to generate awareness of prostate cancer and support a donation of up to $125,000 from Astellas to four research and advocacy organizations: Prostate Cancer Foundation, Australia Prostate Cancer Research, Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia and Prostate Cancer Canada.
From August 5 through the end of September – Prostate Cancer Awareness Month – social media users are encouraged to record a video of themselves catching an inanimate object, mentioning why prostate cancer awareness is important to them, and then passing that object, rugby-style, symbolically to a friend or family member. Astellas will donate $5 to prostate cancer advocacy organizations for every qualifying submission with the #pass4prostate hashtag posted to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, up to a maximum contribution of $125,000.

The first phase, which is a $4 million investment, went live on brookdale.com mid-August.
“With Brookdale’s website attracting more than 500,000 visits every month, it’s imperative to make it as useful to consumers as possible,” said David Cygan, Brookdale’s senior vice president of marketing. “As the nation’s largest senior living provider, we know our website is a primary source of information, with many people coming to us first as they embark on this journey,” Cygan said. “It’s important that we offer substantive resources that make it easier to find help in evaluating senior care options.” More than 80 percent of adult children turn to the Internet when they look for care for an aging parent, according to the company’s research.

Uber-cool Swiss watch brand TAG Heuer will mark the start of the world’s first electric car race season on 31st August with a king-sized VIP party in Beijing, home of the new championship’s electrifying season opener.
The event officially inaugurates the pioneering Swiss brand’s latest adventure in motor-racing, which starts 13 September in Beijing, and closes 27 June, 2015 in London.
