Bojangles’ today announced its title sponsorship of South Carolina’s only NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, the Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. The race will start at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, in its traditional spot on Mother’s Day weekend.
Hungry race fans can also look forward to enjoying Bojangles’ at the track! The sponsorship agreement allows Bojangles’ to serve its delicious Chicken Supremes™, Cajun Filet Sandwich, Seasoned Fries™ and Legendary Iced Tea® at Darlington Raceway. Ballet Director and inspiration for film Mao's Last Dancer Li Cunxin is one of eight finalists for the prestigious Australian of the Year Award 2014
Born into extreme poverty in rural China, Li became one of China's foremost ballet dancers. He became Principal Artist with the Australian Ballet in 1995, and his autobiography, Mao's Last Dancer, was translated onto the screen in 2009. Today, Li inspires many Australians with his personal story of hardship, perseverance and success.
When asked to identify three Australians that he's taken inspiration from, Li named his wife, Mary Li, scientist Professor Ian Frazer and America's Cup skipper John Bertrand.

Begleitet wird der Cup Racer auf dem Seat Stand von fünf weiteren, besonders feurigen und individuell ausgestatteten Versionen der Baureihen Ibiza und Leon sowie einem umfangreichen Programm für die Fans der spanischen Marke. Schon optisch liefert der auf dem fünftürigen Leon basierende und in metallischem Matt-Grau mit orangefarbenen Akzenten lackierte Cup Racer einen beeindruckenden Auftritt: Überaus kraftvoll steht er auf seinen 18 Zoll-Rennrädern, immerhin ist die Spurbreite des Rennwagens fast 40 Zentimeter größer als beim Serienmodell. Die neue Front ist auf optimale aerodynamische Effizienz und maximale Belüftung von Motor und Bremsanlage ausgelegt, die mächtigen Radhäuser mit ihren Öffnungen an der Rückseite unterstützen die Kühlwirkung für die Vierkolben-Bremsanlage. Die Schweller sind weit herausgezogen, zusammen mit dem Frontspoiler, dem glatten Unterboden, dem Diffusor am Heck sowie dem zweistufigen, auf einer Stütze montierten Dachspoiler schaffen sie maximalen Abtrieb für hohe Kurvengeschwindigkeiten. Eine spezielle Variante des Cup Racer für Langstreckenrennen kann mit einem sequentiellen Renngetriebe mit Schalthebel auf der Mittelkonsole und einem mechanischen Sperrdifferential ausgerüstet werden. Selbst ein vorläufiger Kaufpreis für den Leon Cup Racer ist bereits definiert: 70.000 € (ohne Mehrwertsteuer) soll die Version mit DSG-Getriebe kosten, 95.000 € (ebenfalls ohne Mehrwertsteuer) die Langstrecken-Ausführung mit sequentiellem Getriebe und mechanischem Sperrdifferential.
