Für Deutschlands größten Industrie-Konzern war nach 2012 zum dritten Mal in Folge ein neues Rekordjahr. Die 12 Volkswagen-Tochterunternehmen lieferten 9,3 Millionen Fahrzeuge aus. Das bedeutet gegenüber dem Vorjahr ein beeindruckendes Plus von einer Million Autos. Im Geschäftsjahr 2012 hat der VW-Konzern ein Nachsteuerergebnis von 21,9 Milliarden Euro erwirtschaftet. Das sind noch einmal 6,1 Milliarden mehr als im Vorjahr und damit das beste Ergebnis in der Unternehmensgeschichte.Trotz der allgegenwärtigen Krisenstimmung konnte der VW-Konzern zum Teil erhebliche Marktanteile hinzugewinnen. In China waren es noch einmal 25 Prozent, in den USA 34 Prozent und in Russland sogar 41 Prozent Zuwachs.Trotz aller Hindernisse ist Volkswagen weiterhin im Plan, um, wie geplant, 2018 an die Weltspitze zu gelangen. Nach eigenem Bekunden wollen die Wolfsburger aber nicht nur in Sachen Zulassungen und Umsatz weltweit die Nummer eins werden. Der VW-Konzern will bis zum Jahr 2018 als der stärkste, fairste und ökologischste Autobauer gelten.

Auch 2012 war für Audi wieder ein weiteres Rekordjahr in Folge. Trotz schwächelnder Märkte in Europa haben die Ingolstädter im vergangenen Jahr rund 1,46 Millionen Autos ausgeliefert. Das entspricht einer Steigerung von mehr als 150.000 Fahrzeugen. Dieses hat der Ingolstädter Autobauer heute auf seiner Bilanz-Pressekonferenz bekanntgegeben. Audi wird unter dem Dach des Volkswagen-Konzerns einen weiteren Konzern bilden. Die Marken Audi, Lamborghini, Ducati und Italdesign Giugiaro werden so eine Allianz bilden.

The average price of a hotel room around the world rose by 3% during 2012, compared with the previous year, according to the latest Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI). The rate of increase has moderated when judged against the 4% rise in 2011 as the Eurozone’s problems pulled down the global average and slowed growth in the second half of the year.

It is time for a new New Testament. In February of 2012, a council of scholars and spiritual leaders, convened by religious scholar Hal Taussig, came together to discuss, debate, and reconsider which books belong in the New Testament. They talked about dozens of newly found texts, their lessons, and how they inform the previously bound books. In this imaginative reframing, Taussig presents explanatory introductions and additional historical background alongside the traditional New Testament books and ten newly included scriptures, all bringing us closer to a full appreciation of these documents and their impact on spiritual life.
