In total over 6,300 delegates from nearly 3,000 companies in the global duty free & travel retail industry attended the annual trade show which took place in the Palais des Festivals, Cannes from Sunday 20th to Friday 25th October. This visitor figure represents a +4% increase on the previous year and of the total 34% were key duty free & travel retail operators and landlords, up 8% on 2012.

Lynn Napoli Marynowski and her younger brother Frank Napoli are as close as a big sister and little brother can be. They are an extension of their tight-knit family. The world is getting smarter as smart phones, smart cards and now smart buildings are sweeping our cities, according to a report by Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) that states smart building investment is expected to triple from $5.5 billion in 2012 to $18 billion by 2017. Buildings controlled by automated monitoring systems are becoming the norm rather than the exception and building owners, managers and investors are supporting the smart revolution as ‘smart’ buildings ultimately save on energy and operating costs.

Im Rahmen der Aktion, die auf die Gefahren durch zu schnelles Fahren aufmerksam machen soll und in Bayern sogar eine Woche dauert, kontrolliert die Polizei mit mobilen Messgeräten die Geschwindigkeit. In der Regel wird vorab bekannt gegeben, an welchen Stellen geblitzt wird. Die breite Ankündigung des Blitz-Marathons sowie die Bekanntgabe der Messstellen in den Medien – insgesamt 14.724 Polizisten und kommunale Mitarbeiter sind an 8.599 Gefahrenpunkten im Einsatz - leisten auch nach Meinung des ADAC einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Verbesserung der Verkehrssicherheit. Noch 1991 war „nicht angepasste Geschwindigkeit“ die Ursache für 84 000 schwere Unfälle mit Personenschaden. Bis zum Jahr 2012 ist diese Zahl auf 34 000 gesunken.
