Multi-platinum recording artist Selena Gomez will take the stage today for a LIVE performance to kickoff The Salvation Army’s 123rd National Red Kettle Campaign at AT&T Stadium during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Oakland Raiders nationally televised game on CBS. For the past 17 years, the Dallas Cowboys have helped The Salvation Army launch the campaign during its nationally televised halftime performances. The Red Kettle Campaign raised more than $148.7 million last year to serve America’s most vulnerable by providing food, shelter and more than 1 million toys for children during the holidays.

McDonald’s USA announced today it will televise its annual 365Black Awards ceremony for the first time on national cable television network Black Entertainment Television® (BET®). Hosted by award-winning actress Taraji P. Henson, the program will air at 11 p.m. Eastern/10 p.m. Central Sunday, August 25. McDonald’s 365Black Awards will feature an all-star lineup of celebrity performers and presenters. Comedian Jonathan Slocumb will open the broadcast that will feature show-stopping performances by recording artists Erica Campbell, Estelle, Angie Stone, Jordin Sparks and Yolanda Adams. For an audience of 300 at the New York Stock Exchange, including members of the New York Cosmos and New York Red Bulls, the America SCORES 7th Annual National Poetry SLAM! featured poetry performances by 27 elementary school children from 14 cities. Also in attendance were guests of honor football legend Shep Messing and soccer visionary, Joseph Tacopina. The event, a benefit for America SCORES, reached its $150,000 fundraising goal thanks largely to these honorees and their friends, including international soccer icon Pelé, who collectively matched the evening’s donations with $10,000. The performance, which was held on the 15th November 2012 at Egyptian Hall, Mansion House, focused on the drama unfolding on an “open outcry” stock trading floor, the type of trading floor on which traditionally traders shout and use hand-signals.
