More than 173,000 women in the United States are living with metastatic breast cancer and each has a story to tell. AstraZeneca is launching a nationwide photo-sharing campaign to provide them another way to share their inspiration, experiences and strengths with others.
To show their support, women living with metastatic breast cancer can upload photos of themselves on social media using the campaign hashtag #MBCStrength. Photos posted on Twitter by October 1, 2014 and tagged with #MBCStrength will be considered for a Times Square display in New York City on the fifth anniversary of Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day on October 13, 2014.

It was great to hear from so many people, and I’m impressed by everyone’s dedication to their health,” said McGraw. “The stories we received shed an important light on the similar hardships people in the community face as they work toward achieving their blood sugar goals.”

Black History Month is a time when all Americans honor the rich African American culture in our society. It was Carter G. Woodson, an African American historian, who began a weeklong celebration, called Negro History Week, in 1926 as a way to honor Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. One of the best ways to celebrate is by reading books by and about African Americans. Virginia Hamilton’s works are among the many books that call upon readers to think about slavery, freedom, and heritage. Despite these staggering statistics, there are signs of hope. Treatments for metastatic breast cancer are improving, and they continue to help people with the disease live longer and healthier lives.

The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) today released its annual Hot Wheels report, which identifies the 10 most stolen vehicles in the United States. The report examines vehicle theft data submitted by law enforcement to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and determines the vehicle make, model and model year most reported stolen in 2017.
While Honda Accords and Civics produced prior to the introduction of anti-theft technology continue to dominate this report, a deeper look at the data demonstrates just how effective anti-theft technology continues to be. A total of (6,707) 1998 Honda Civics were stolen in 2017 compared with just (388) 2017 Civics. Put another way, (17) 1998 Civics were stolen last year for every one 2017 model.

The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) today announced a new, national effort aimed at ending hunger in the communities Kroger calls home and eliminating waste across the company by 2025.
“No family in a community we serve should ever go hungry, and no food in a store we operate should ever go to waste ,” said Rodney McMullen, Kroger’s chairman and CEO.
Across the United States, 42 million Americans struggle with hunger. At the same time, an estimated 72 billion pounds of food ends up in a landfill every year.
“More than 40 percent of the food produced in the U.S. each year goes unconsumed, while one in eight people struggle with hunger. That just doesn’t make sense,” Mr. McMullen said. “As America’s grocer and one of the largest retailers in the world, we are committing to doing something about it.”
