Beim traditionellen Volkswagen-Konzern-Treffen am Vorabend des Genfer Autosalons gab es eine spannende Frage – welche Weltpremieren, welche Studien würden hier vorab präsentiert, welche erst am ersten Messetag. Denn angesichts der wahren Neuheitenflut war eine Auswahl unumgänglich. Nun, man entschied sich für eine gesunde Mischung und fand damit bei den über 1.200 geladenen Gästen großen Anklang. Die dritte Generation des Audi TT, der Huracan als Nachfolger des Lamborghini Gallardo, der „Rembrandt Bugatti“ als weitere Sonderedition des Veyron 16,4 Grand Sport Vitesse, der Continental GT Speed als schnellster Bentley aller Zeiten sowie der Seat Leon Cupra zeigten das Hier und Jetzt. Die Skoda-Designstudie „VisionC“ und das sechssitzige Konzeptfahrzeug „Clipper“ von Giugiaro dagegen unterschiedliche Ansätze, wie die automobile Zukunft aussehen könnte. Für den Spagat zwischen Konzeptfahrzeug und Serie zuständig aren der T-ROC, mit dem Volkswagen zwischen Tiguan und Touareg eine neue SUV-Baureihe etablieren wird und die Alltrack-Studie für den VW Multivan, der schon sehr bald auf unseren Straßen zu sehen sein dürfte. Ein vielfältigeres Angebot kann derzeit kein anderer Autokonzern bieten.

An important collection of sculpture from the 19th and 20th century to come up for sale at Bukowskis in Stockholm on December 4.
Bukowskis has been entrusted to sell a major sculpture collection, once owned by the family behind the Swedish chocolate brand Marabou, Throne-Holst. The total value of the bronzes is ca EUR 2,23 million. The collection includes pieces by master artists such as Auguste Rodin, Jean Arp, Lynn Chadwick, Henri Laurens, Aristide Maillol and Arnaldo Pomodoro.

Gogo, a leader of in–flight connectivity and a pioneer in wireless in–flight digital entertainment solutions, announced today that it has launched its next generation connectivity technology – ATG–4 – on three airlines: Delta Air Lines, US Airways and Virgin America. The service is expected to increase capacity to the plane, which will allow more passengers to access the Internet with a more consistent browsing experience.

DHX Media’s W!LDBRAIN Entertainment, together with outreach partners Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), WTTW Chicago Public Media and research firm Michael Cohen Group, have introduced UMIGO, the first of its kind transmedia math property, to 10 markets across the U.S. through children’s museums and public television stations. They were joined on October 4 by Parliament funkadelic legend Bootsy Collins and the UMIGO characters at the UMIGO outreach kick-off event held at CMOM. At the event, New York public school children and home schooled children participated in transmedia UMIGO workshops led by DHX Media’s W!LDBRAIN Entertainment, producers of UMIGO, and CMOM. Collins lends his voice to original UMIGO music and appears as an animated character in the music video “Rocket Box.” Together, CMOM and WTTW will continue to expand the program into additional markets over the next three years.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution – or “Industry 4.0” for short – is redefining the way we interact with machines. Industrial machines are becoming increasingly autonomous as they gain the ability to function independently of human input. One of the first examples of this new generation of machinery is already in use in Germany.
Viper, the 30-year leader in car security, today announced that Viper SmartStart, the app that gives users the ability to start, lock, unlock and track their car from virtually anywhere in the world with their smartphone, will be available for Android Wear and Apple Watch in early 2015. Viper made the announcement at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Viper’s smart watch functionality will be available for free download for Android and iOS through the company’s newest version of the Viper SmartStart 4.0 app. Viper SmartStart 4.0 is compatible with all Viper SmartStart hardware, which means all existing and future Viper SmartStart users who purchase an Apple Watch or Android Wear product will be able to take advantage of the smart watch features at no additional cost.
