The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education, announced today that entries for the 2013 Poster Design Competition will be accepted through January 31, 2013. The Competition winners will earn tuition scholarships to study at one of the more than 50 Art Institutes schools, including a full tuition scholarship for the national first place winner in the high school senior category.

Audubon Zoo recently welcomed an addition to its animal collection and it’s a big one: Bonnie, a 15–year–old Southern White Rhino weighing in at more than two tons. She joins Audubon Zoo’s lone male rhino, Saba, and two other females, Yvonne and Macite, age 51, the world’s oldest rhino in captivity.

On May 8, 1945 the world celebrated the end of World War II in Europe, but for some young American children it represented the beginning of a lifetime without their fathers. In collaboration with Chateau Ste. Michelle, Washington State’s oldest and most acclaimed winery, the intimate venue will enable guests to blend their own wine and enjoy it at dinner or in the privacy of their stateroom.
BLEND — the first of its kind for Holland America Line and the only purpose-built wine-blending venue at sea — will have a tasting table that accommodates 10 guests who can create their own blend from a selection of five barrels of single-vineyard red wine. In addition to participating in the blending process, guests also will learn about wine from the ship’s wine expert, who leads the blending session.
