This November 11th at 8 p.m. ET, PBS will bring the nation together in tribute to the service and sacrifice of our over 22 million American veterans with the inaugural broadcast of the NATIONAL SALUTE TO VETERANS. More than 500,000 Americans lost their lives in World War I and World War II defending democracy on soil and water far from the United States. The sacrifice of these men and women will be honored this Memorial Day weekend by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) with ceremonies at America’s military cemeteries overseas, where more than 200,000 of these individuals are buried and memorialized.

The upcoming unveiling of the Environmental Protection Agency's plan to impose new far-reaching regulations on emissions of existing power plants promises to bring unwelcome increases in electricity prices for consumers and businesses, warns the National Mining Association.
"This plan is all pain and no gain," said Luke Popovich, vice president of communications for the National Mining Association."
