Leading Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) operator Thuraya Telecommunications today unveiled a new generation of SatSleeve models, offering greater choice, improved quality and a new hotspot option.
When SatSleeve was launched in 2013 it pioneered the “bring your own device” (BYOD) concept in the satellite industry. Now Thuraya goes further with two new models, and has identified a clear consumer target market for the range, running alongside core government, media, energy, and NGO sectors.
SatSleeve+ and SatSleeve Hotspot will appeal to travellers, adventurers and outdoor sportspeople, or simply to consumers who want the assurance that their smartphone will connect even when terrestrial networks are unavailable or damaged.
Thuraya will market SatSleeve+ and SatSleeve Hotspot through existing distribution partners; innovative agreements it has developed with mobile network operators (MNOs) in key markets; and new channels generated through online retailer Expansys.

According to the Edelman American Well-Being Study released today by Edelman Wellness 360 in partnership with Edelman Berland, consumers prioritize emotional health over physical, yet 63 percent lack clarity on how to achieve emotional well-being, like relieving stress and increasing self-esteem. While consumers say they need more support to reach both their physical and emotional health goals, the study also revealed that nearly half don’t turn to others for help and 89 percent say they are solely responsible for their well-being. Finding time to eat well doesn’t mean you have to resort to eating out or going through the drive through during this busy fall season. New data analysis, supported in part by by Nestlé USA, indicates that people who reported dining on frozen meals ate fewer calories per day and consumed less saturated fat than those who reported eating fast food meals, also known as quick service restaurant (QSR) meals.1 The findings also showed that those who reported eating frozen meals consumed more essential nutrients than those who reported opting for fast food meals.
The findings are based on a new analysis of data from the 2003-2010 What We Eat In America (WWEIA) National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), a program of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
