With the airing of Super Bowl XLVIII, 20 Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) students became the first to have a hand in designing the opening animation for FOX Sports’ broadcast of the NFL’s annual championship game. A television event that likely will be one of the top 10 most-watched programs in history, the broadcast was expected to draw an audience of more than 100 million.
The opening animation of the broadcast was set in New York’s iconic Times Square, and brought the worlds of art and football together to capture the superior athleticism of NFL players. SCAD students helped create the concept and design for the animation using assets provided by FOX Sports and by fashioning new creative elements.

Walt Disney Records is set to release a new hologram vinyl version of the original motion picture soundtrack for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With score conducted and composed by five-time Academy Award®-winning composer John Williams and liner notes by the film’s director, J.J. Abrams, the double LP features a 16-page booklet on 180 gram vinyl. The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History will open a unique hands-on learning space, the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation Object Project, July 1. Made possible by philanthropist Phyllis Taylor, the 4,000-square-foot space in the museum's new Innovation Wing will focus on “everyday things that changed everything.”
Anchored by an array of individual cases–some overhead, others with visitor-activated sound, light and motion effects–“Object Project” will invite visitors to interact with approximately 250 objects within the 9-by-40-foot sculpture that forms the learning space. The space is divided into four sections: Bicycles, Refrigerators, Ready-to-Wear Clothes and Household Hits, which includes a customized interactive version of “The Price Is Right” game show format licensed from FremantleMedia North America Inc.

Wer sich sicher ist, dass das Auto stets nur mit maximal zwei Personen besetzt ist und weder längere Urlaubsreisen noch ständig größere Einkäufe bei einem Baumarkt anfallen, dürfte sich die Mehrkosten sparen. Ab den B-Säulen entwickelt sich dann allerdings der eigenständigste und auch optisch dynamischste Golf Variant seit Bestehen der Baureihe.

A new online survey shows just how difficult life insurance conversations can be. Parents would rather talk to their children about drugs/alcohol, religion and politics before life insurance, which is a topic only slightly more comfortable than sex/puberty. The survey also shows parents are the primary source for initial conversations about life insurance. This topic avoidance might be one reason that 22 percent of Americans feel they are not at all knowledgeable about life insurance. The State Farm survey, conducted by Harris Interactive among over 2,000 U.S. adults also revealed a gap in Americans’ knowledge of life insurance and general misconceptions about the benefits life insurance provides to those who are insured.
