Der ADAC hat insgesamt 150 Waschstraßen und sogenannte Portalanlagen bundesweit getestet. Resultat: Waschstraßen waschen besser als sogenannte Portalanlagen. Die beste Waschstraße heißt „Soft Wash Park“ und ist in Magdeburg. Diese Anlage schneidet mit der Gesamtnote „sehr gut“ (1,5) ab. Im Durchschnitt bekommen die Waschstraßen die Note „gut“. Die Portalanlagen - ein „Tor“ mit Waschelementen fährt bei dieser Art der Säuberung über das stehende Fahrzeug und zurück - kommen nur auf einen Notenschnitt von 3,6, sind also nur „ausreichend“. Weder eine Portalwaschanlage (66 wurden getestet), noch eine der 84 geprüften Waschstraßen fällt im Test durch. Allerdings ist auch keine Portalanlage dabei, die ein „gut“ oder „sehr gut“ schafft. Die wichtigste Testkategorie ist die „Waschleistung“.

Urlauber, die erstmals mit einem Wohnmobil in den Urlaub starten möchten, sollten sich optimal vorbereiten. Vor Reiseantritt sollten verschiedene Fahrsituationen geübt werden, wie das Rangieren, Kurven- und Bremsverhalten. Auch über die korrekte Beladung des Wohnmobils, sollten sich Reisende vorab genau informieren. Falsch gesicherte Ladung kann nicht nur die Insassen verletzen, sondern auch die Fahrstabilität des Wohnmobils beeinflussen. Um die Wahl des passenden Wohnmobils zu erleichtern hat der ADAC fünf Modelle getestet. Nachgestellt wurde eine Urlaubsfahrt mit voll beladenen Wohnmobilen der Hersteller Frankia, Adria, Sun Living und Hymer (Gewichtsklasse von 3,3 bis 4,2 Tonnen), mit und ohne ESP. Ergebnis: Beim Ausweichtest könnten ungeübte Fahrer ohne ESP Probleme durch die Schleuderneigung und das Pendeln bekommen. Hier empfiehlt der ADAC die Modelle von Frankia und Hymer (mit ESP), die im ADAC Test das Urteil „gut“ erhielten. Der Adria (mit ESP), der Frankia und der Sun Living (beide ohne ESP) schnitten mit „befriedigend“ ab, der Hymer (gefahren ohne ESP) erreicht ein „ausreichend“. ESP ist zwar kein Wundermittel, das alle Fahrfehler ausbügelt, aber das Regelsystem hilft dem ungeübten Gelegenheitsfahrer in gefährlichen Situationen Unfälle zu vermeiden. Ab dem 1. November 2014 ist übrigens die Ausstattung aller Neufahrzeuge mit ESP vorgeschrieben.

Today, GENYOUth announced the launch of Fuel Up to Play 60 en español, an evolution of its national flagship program. The program encourages Spanish-speaking communities nationwide to live healthier lifestyles through good nutrition and physical activity. Fuel Up to Play 60 launched a redesigned website (FuelUpToPlay60.com) that provides Spanish-language content and materials, extending the reach and access of the program to students, teachers and families across the country. Several organizations have supported the effort, including the PepsiCo Foundation, which has provided a previously announced grant of $550,000 to develop Spanish-language materials and resources. In addition the PepsiCo Foundation will provide another $100,000 for mini-grants for health and wellness activities and programming within Los Angeles Unified School District and Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Fuel Up to Play 60, a program founded by the National Football League (NFL) and National Dairy Council (NDC), is designed to engage and empower youth to take action for their own health by implementing long-term, positive nutrition and physical activity changes for themselves, their schools and their communities. Studies show that physical fitness may benefit brain health and academic performance, suggesting active kids may do better. However, only 1 in 3 kids are active every day, potentially leaving many at a disadvantage inside and outside of the classroom. Today, Novo Nordisk announced new phase 3 interim data from its guardianTM2 trial for its recombinant coagulation factor VIII (rFVIII) product NovoEight® (turoctocog alfa), the first new rFVIII molecule in over a decade, which shows that it provides long-term reduction from bleeding in people with haemophilia A when used as a preventative treatment.1 The results were presented at the World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH) World Congress and support findings from other studies within the guardianTM clinical programme that found NovoEight® demonstrated good efficacy in preventing and treating bleeds without inhibitor development in previously treated patients.
