More than 500,000 Americans lost their lives in World War I and World War II defending democracy on soil and water far from the United States. The sacrifice of these men and women will be honored this Memorial Day weekend by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) with ceremonies at America’s military cemeteries overseas, where more than 200,000 of these individuals are buried and memorialized.

War sein Vorgänger noch ein Derivat der Continental-Baureihe, das lediglich den Namen „Flying Spur“ als Zusatz trug, hört die aktuelle Generation nur noch auf den Namen „New Flying Spur“. Britische Limousinen gelten seit den Anfängen des Automobilbaus als der Inbegriff von Luxus und Sportlichkeit. Dieser Erwartung fühlt sich auch der neue Bentley verpflichtet. Um es auf den Punkt zu bringen, die 5,30 Meter Limousine ist der stärkste und schnellste Serien-Bentley der je die Hallen verlassen hat. Aus seinem in W-Form angeordneten Zwölfzylinder holt er dank zweier Turbolader 625 PS heraus. Dank Allradantrieb kann der immerhin rund 2,5 Tonnen schwere Flying Spur in 4,6 Sekunden auf Tempo 100 sprinten, erst bei 322 km/h endet der Vortrieb.

With the July Fourth holiday fast approaching, Brookdale Senior Living and the nonprofit organization Wish of a Lifetime™ are celebrating patriotism by sharing the stories of four high-flying World War II veterans whose Wishes of taking to the skies again were fulfilled by the organizations. Granting these Wishes was a way to honor the service of these American heroes and to demonstrate that there is no age limit for taking new adventures. Since Brookdale and Wish of a Lifetime™ started their partnership in 2010, more than 80 of their Wishes have commemorated the service of Brookdale veterans across the country.

Vor 29 Jahren feierte der Audi Sport quattro sein Debut als Homologationsmodell eines neuen Rallyautos, mit dem die Ingolstädter in den nächsten Jahren inclusive der Weiterentwicklung S1 den Rallyesport dominierten. Fast drei Jahrzehnte Unterschied bedeuten in der Auto-Entwicklung eigentlich unterschiedliche Welten, können nicht miteinander verglichen werden. Umso gespannter war unser Team, als es bei der „Audi Land of quattro Alpentour“ mit dem neuen RS 6 Avant den Oldie traf, der ebenfalls die 4.440 Kilometer lange Strecke über 44 Pässe und durch sechs Länder erfolgreich absolvierte.
Zum Start der neuen Radsaison führt die Deutsche Verkehrswacht (DVW) die bundesweite Aktion „Ich trag´ Helm“ fort, mit der sie für das freiwillige Tragen von Fahrradhelmen wirbt. Um modebewusste Radfahrerinnen und Radfahrer für das Helmtragen zu begeistern, setzt die DVW aktuell die Akzente auf das Thema „Mode und Fahrradhelm“. Als prominenten Paten für die Aktion konnte die DVW den Modedesigner Guido Maria Kretschmer gewinnen. Er zeigte sich von der Idee begeistert, Fahrradhelme mit Mode-Outfits zu kombinieren und nahm die künstlerische Herausforderung an, dies mit seinen Models umzusetzen. Besonders medienwirksam für die Kampagne war das Engagement des Stardesigners auf seiner After-Show-Party während der Berliner „Fashion Week“. Dort trugen seine Models handelsübliche Fahrradhelme zur Abendgarderobe. Auf der Party wurde ein Video-Podcast produziert, der die Models und die Reaktion der Gäste, zum Beispiel von Jorge Gonzalez, zeigt.
