Subaru of America, Inc. today announced the completion of a Pet Travel Seat Pilot Study as part of its continued partnership with Center for Pet Safety (CPS), a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit research and consumer advocacy organization. Subaru and CPS have tested pet products most commonly used by pet parents when traveling. Phase one tested pet harnesses, phase two tested pet crates and carriers, and now, phase three has tested pet travel seats. A pet travel seat is typically used in a vehicle to hold or elevate the pet, but does not offer full containment. The Pet Travel Seat Pilot Study found that while a pet travel seat may offer distraction prevention, it will likely not offer crash protection in the event of an accident, which could lead to injury of the pet and the human vehicle passengers. The quality of commonly available pet travel seats did not provide effective protection in a crash scenario. Based on the scientific test evidence collected over the past four years, in part through its partnership with Subaru, CPS can now identify the safest travel options for most pets. For small dogs and cats, Center for Pet Safety recommends one of the 2015 Top Performing Carriers; for medium and large dogs either the 2015 Top Performing Crate - Gunner Kennels G1 Intermediate with 8' Tie Down Straps, or a Center for Pet Safety Certified Harness. A wonderful musician and friend of mine has recently departed from our world and is now starting his new life under God's great care and guidance. Nikos will do very well in Heaven and will even delight the angels with his goodwill and music. "I am reaching out to you now from this world Nikos to present you with my gift of this song for you. The melody came to me immediate in my grief. Now with great joy, I embrace you as my eternal friend. There is no end for you now my friend Nikos. Only eternal bliss and fulfillment..... I suppose that I will have to behave myself a little bit more if we are to meet again and go fishing as I have promised. PS my friend. I do not own a flute, nor did I have any simulated flute sounds that I could use for this song and so I came up with the idea of recording the sound of the timer from my microwave and by stretching it out, I believe that I now have a most beautiful flute sound. You always did call me your crazy artist friend. I suppose that this proves it. Take good care of yourself Nikos. Eternally your crazy artist friend.. Steve.

The creative collaboration between Swedish artist/producer Avicii and Volvo Cars for their new brand campaign features a reworking of the classic song Feeling Good. Filmed on location in Stockholm and Osterlen, southern Sweden, the video visits places of personal significance for Avicii and tells his own story of renewal, following several years of hard touring. The video also features members of his family and close friends. “In the past six years I have been on a never-ending tour, apart for the last nine months during my time-out. I did around 325 shows in a year with traveling on top of that. It couldn’t continue. In the end I had to re-evaluate my situation and change my lifestyle. Sweden is an important place to me, it’s where I gather my strength and energy with family and friends. This whole process of re-evaluation and renewal is what Volvo encouraged me to visualise in the video. I think we did a great job together,” said Avicii. This song and video will probably be most appreciated by fellow musicians. Especially those who do programming. This was one of my first experimental songs that I tried out on FL 5 out back in 2005. It was my 3rd composition. This dates back farther than anything that I've previously uploaded to Youtube. This baby was my prototype that laid down the ground work for the simpler projects that I perform now. I wasn't even singing at that time yet. At least not solo. I did however lay down 100 vocal tracks of "Ahs" and mixed them down to 1 track on this 400 track project. My first goal was to compose an original European style song and learn how to do so on this new program. I decided to use my imagination and give it a live concert sound. For this, I uploaded a lot of various audience sound effects from Limewire. I added my own whistling which I'm sure that my neighbors appreciated. What I amazed myself with was how I was able to take the stock FL hand claps which are usually dry for rap music and transform them into a concert sounding audience clapping, most notably on the drum solo which was another adventure in itself. I cloned as many hand clap that I needed to emulate the sound and altered their pitch and offset their timing for a more human sounding crowd effect. Knowing that I would want to be very versatile with my percussion work, I figured that a drum solo would be the best way for me to test my potential. I've personally have never heard anything like this on a program like FL or any other virtual program. Normally if I intend to upload an older project, I'll upgrade and replace the older sounds with the better sounds that I use now but I've decided to leave this one exactly the way I had left it...Cobwebs and all. Besides, I have no idea as to how I actually came up with this stuff. It looks like an endless maze of tracks. As far as the video goes....I took out my camera and snapped a few back yard shots. My back yard is beautiful at this time of year.

Did you know up to 99% of your vehicle battery is recyclable and almost all of it can be used to make new batteries or other products? The metals in conventional batteries are the most recycled materials in the world—more than paper, glass and cardboard. The plastic can be recycled into new battery cases and the electrolytes can be reused or made into detergents. Johnson Controls, the world’s largest manufacturer of automotive batteries, makes new batteries from 80% recycled content—this means you could be driving a car that is powered by the same materials that were in the battery from your grandparent’s vehicle.
