Matt Cogar furthered his legacy at the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® U.S. Championship, presented by RAM, besting seven of the top lumberjack athletes in the country to win his fifth straight title. The Championship took place at BMO Harris Pavilion at German Fest Milwaukee in front of a crowd of over 10,000, in a three-day Championship weekend that attracted more than 17,000 fans.
“It was so amazing. It was such a wonderful event with some tough competition,” said Cogar. “I’m thankful for my family, who mean everything to me, and who supported me in all that I do.” In addition to the glory of being named U.S. Champion, Cogar was awarded a brand new Ram 1500 for his victory.

New York Yankees all-time great Bernie Williams is teaming up with Boehringer Ingelheim to raise awareness of a lung disease called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) that his father suffered from for years before he passed away in 2001. His father, Bernabé, inspired Williams to play baseball and make it to the Major Leagues, and taught him to play guitar which has become William’s second career since retiring from baseball.
In honor of his father’s battle with IPF, Williams has joined the Breathless™ campaign to turn his family’s devastating experience with this rare lung disease into a chance to help other families. Williams hopes to educate and empower others who think they may have IPF to seek early diagnosis and treatment and is encouraging people to visit the campaign website – www.BreathlessIPF.com – and share the videos and educational content through social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter.

In a football pitch on June 20th, social media stars Iza and Elle from Sweden set a new world record on having the largest number of girls dancing in one Musical.ly video with a little help from their friends. Co-hosting the event was IFK Stocksund, the local football club where Iza and Elle are playing. The Series will host its U.S. Pro and Collegiate Championship at German Fest, at the BMO Harris Pavilion at Henry Maier Festival Park in Milwaukee, from July 28 to 30. The top 20 professional and eight collegiate athletes will chop and saw their way toward the title of Best Lumberjack in the USA.
The STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series pits premier lumberjack athletes in thrilling and grueling chopping and sawing competitions to determine the top lumberjack in the country. The Series, which is in its 32nd season, will air on ABC in the fall with re-airs on ESPN, ESPN2 and NBC Sports.
