Los asientos de seguridad, cuando se usan correctamente, pueden reducir enormemente el riesgo de muerte o lesión. Sin embargo, 59% de los asientos para autos se usan de manera tal que se reduce su efectividad, y más de la tercera parte de los niños que murieron en choques automovilísticos iban sin ningún tipo de sujeción en el momento del accidente. Hoy, NHTSA y el Ad Council revelan una nueva serie de anuncios de servicio a la comunidad (PSA) a fin de concientizar a los padres y cuidadores sobre la importancia de elegir el asiento correcto para la edad y talla de sus hijos, y recordarles que los asientos de seguridad, los asientos elevadores y los cinturones de seguridad brindan la mejor protección a los niños en caso de choque y ayudan a salvar vidas.
“La vida puede cambiar en un instante. Queremos que los padres y cuidadores se preparen para lo inesperado en lugar de enfrentar su peor pesadilla”, dijo el Dr. Mark Rosekind, administrador de NHTSA. “Afianzar correctamente a un pequeño en el asiento correcto es la mejor protección que todo padre puede brindar para que su hijo salga ileso de un accidente en auto”.

Register Your Car Seat Today.” Every 34 seconds, a child under the age of 13 is involved in a crash and more than a third of children killed in crashes were not in car seats or wearing seat belts. NHTSA's new Car Seat Finder Tool is aimed at helping parents select the right car seat or booster seat for their child, while the campaign reminds everyone of the importance of registering car seats to receive important safety recall notifications.

Northwestern Mutual, presenting sponsor of the Rose Bowl Game, today announced that its float in the 127th Rose Parade presented by Honda in Pasadena on Jan. 1, 2016, will support the fight against childhood cancer.
The theme of this year’s parade is Find Your Adventure. Northwestern Mutual will dedicate its float design to the greatest adventure and dream of 13-year-old Peyton Richardson of Sugar Land, Texas, who is in treatment for acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). Northwestern Mutual is committed to raising awareness, accelerating the search for cures to childhood cancer and providing support to families battling the disease.
Peyton, an aspiring ballerina, would like to see the performances of the distinguished ballet companies of the world and have a ballet lesson with one of their principal dancers. Peyton’s adventure will be brought to life in flowers by Fiesta Parade Floats.

On January 13, 2019, the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund (“Relief Fund”) directly handed out $1,000 Payoneer® prepaid cards to approximately 4,000 families in Puerto Rico who are still recovering after Hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated the island.
More than 200 volunteers from Cantor Fitzgerald and its affiliate companies BGC Partners and Newmark Knight Frank, along with New York community volunteers and clients from Banco Santander and Scotiabank, distributed $4 million at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Relief Fund worked directly with the office of Carmen Yulin Cruz, San Juan Mayor, to organize the effort and identify the families in need.
