Como parte del inicio de la segunda temporada de la exitosa Súper Serie “Señora Acero”, TELEMUNDO tendrá una “Noche de Acero” este martes, 22 de septiembre. La gran noche comienza a las 7pm/6c con el especial de Noticias Telemundo “Las mujeres del narco”, un programa en el que se investigó el papel de la mujer en el mundo del narcotráfico. A las 8pm/7c TELEMUNDO emitirá un resumen de dos horas sobre la primera temporada que ayudará a la audiencia a revivir acontecimientos importantes de la trama antes del gran estreno a las 10pm/9c. Por primera vez en la historia de la cadena, el estreno será en simultáneo a través de la televisión, Video On Demand, Telemundo.com, Twitter, Periscope y YouTube.
La historia que convirtió a “Señora Acero” en un fenómeno de audiencia, alcanzando los primeros lugares de rating en la historia del canal, es protagonizada por Blanca Soto y cuenta con un elenco de estrellas que participaron en la primera temporada como Litzy, Lincoln Palomeque, José Luis Reséndez, Jorge Zárate, Aurora Gil, Alejandro Calva, Valentina Acosta, Alberto Agnesi, Alejandro García, Andy Zuno, Luciana Silveyra, y Sergio Lozano. Black History Month is a time when all Americans honor the rich African American culture in our society. It was Carter G. Woodson, an African American historian, who began a weeklong celebration, called Negro History Week, in 1926 as a way to honor Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. One of the best ways to celebrate is by reading books by and about African Americans. Virginia Hamilton’s works are among the many books that call upon readers to think about slavery, freedom, and heritage. Through her stories, Hamilton began the genre of liberation literature, which serves to instill cultural pride, as well as a sense of family and the importance of relationships. Anand G. Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, became the first Indian to receive the prestigious Harvard Medal for his dedication, generosity and service to the University. Harvard President Drew Faust, the Lincoln Professor of History, presented Mr. Mahindra with the medal at the Annual Meeting of the Harvard Alumni Association during Harvard’s 363rd Commencement Afternoon Program on May 29.

The Honda Accord, Volvo XC60 and the Lincoln Navigator were crowned as the winners of the 2018 North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) awards today at the North American International Auto Show.
The awards are among the most prestigious in the industry because they are chosen by a panel of more than 60 jurors from print, online and broadcast media across the United States and Canada. Votes were tallied confidentially by Deloitte LLP and remained sealed until they were announced today by NACTOY officers, President Mark Phelan, Vice President Matt DeLorenzo and Secretary-Treasurer Lauren Fix at Cobo Center in Detroit.

The Lincoln Continental, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Toyota Avalon come out at the top of a group of six large cars recently evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The three cars qualify for TOP SAFETY PICK+, the Institute’s highest award. The Tesla Model S, the Chevrolet Impala and the Ford Taurus fall short of any award because they each earn only an acceptable rating in the small overlap front test.
Vehicles qualify for either the TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ award if they have good ratings from IIHS in five crashworthiness tests — small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints — and an available front crash prevention system that earns a superior or advanced rating. To qualify for TOP SAFETY PICK+, a vehicle also must come with good or acceptable headlights
Oklahoma State University (OSU) and the New York Philharmonic announced a residency partnership marking the opening of the new McKnight Center for the Performing Arts at OSU in October, 2019. The partnership is made possible in part by the visionary $25 million programming gift to OSU by alumni Billie and Ross McKnight. The McKnights’ gift established a program endowment to benefit all students, faculty and the Stillwater community by bringing top-tier residency programs and performances to OSU.
In addition to multiple New York Philharmonic performances at the McKnight Center conducted by future New York Philharmonic Music Director Jaap van Zweden, the residency partnership will include educational opportunities for OSU students with Philharmonic musicians and management, such as masterclasses, audition workshops and lectures. Every season the Philharmonic reaches millions of people through concerts at Lincoln Center in New York, worldwide tours, educational activities and outreach. The partnership with OSU adds to the Philharmonic’s growing list of educational partnerships throughout the U.S. and world, which includes the University Musical Society at the University of Michigan and New York Philharmonic Global Academy partnerships with Santa Barbara’s Music Academy of the West, The Shepherd School at Rice University and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.
