The second annual iHeartRadio Music Festival closed a triumphant weekend, September 21 and 22, after more than 10 hours of back-to-back diverse performances by some of the biggest names in the music industry as well as a number of unprecedented collaborations by superstars across musical genres. Throngs of fans lined up at Sands® Cotai Central Saturday evening, hoping to catch a glimpse of the glittering array of celebrities walking the red carpet on their way to a VIP gala dinner at Sheraton Macao Hotel, part of Sands Cotai Central’s A Night of Stars event.
Celebrities gracing the red carpet, to the delighted screams and cheers of their fans, included Sammo Hung, Carol “Dodo” Cheng, Frances Yip, Chang Chen, Wu Chun, Ekin Cheng, Chilam Cheung, Karena Lam, Grasshopper and Sandrine Pinna, along with Vincent Kok and Sire Ma, who were masters of ceremony at the gala dinner – a celebration for the integrated resort’s VIP customers. Before the dinner, the stars participated in a handprint ceremony, with the resulting handprints to be incorporated into the Cotai Strip® development’s own version of an ‘Avenue of Stars’ walkway.

CeBIT 2013, the world’s biggest shop window on the ICT industry, is now
officially open. This evening, German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and the 2,000 invited guests at the Opening Ceremony previewed this year’s keynote themes.
For an audience of 300 at the New York Stock Exchange, including members of the New York Cosmos and New York Red Bulls, the America SCORES 7th Annual National Poetry SLAM! featured poetry performances by 27 elementary school children from 14 cities. Also in attendance were guests of honor football legend Shep Messing and soccer visionary, Joseph Tacopina. The event, a benefit for America SCORES, reached its $150,000 fundraising goal thanks largely to these honorees and their friends, including international soccer icon Pelé, who collectively matched the evening’s donations with $10,000. 2013 Shanghai Tourism Festival opened on the evening of September 14. The Opening Ceremony Grand Parade, a legacy of the festival, gathered 32 performing teams from 23 countries and 21 sleek floats, providing tourists with a spectacular visual display on Shanghai’s Huaihai Road. It was the first time that teams from Belgium, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania and the Bahamas participated in the parade. Over 80 percent of the performing teams came from outside China. The 2013 Shanghai Tourism Festival with the tagline “Tourism makes your life richer” included a wide variety of events with a focus on sightseeing, food tasting and leisure.
