More than four in 10 workers (42 percent) in a new survey from global staffing firm Robert Half said they’re likely to look for a new job within the next year. For respondents ages 18 to 34, the number likely to seek new employment in the next 12 months jumps to 68 percent.
Part of the retention challenge for executives is understanding why a good employee might want to leave. Inadequate salary and benefits is the top reason workers said they would quit. However, CFOs reported the number-one reason they think good employees would resign is limited growth potential.

Today on Rare Disease Day, My Life, Our Future, a national program founded by leaders in the bleeding disorder community, including Bloodworks Northwest, the American Thrombosis and Hemostasis Network, the National Hemophilia Foundation and Bioverativ Inc., opened the largest research repository of its kind in the world to scientists. The My Life, Our Future Research Repository is a collection of genetic data and blood samples that are linked to phenotypic data from more than 5,000 people in the U.S. with hemophilia, a rare disorder that impairs the ability of one’s blood to clot. The My Life, Our Future Research Repository will allow researchers to advance the scientific understanding of the disorder, including genetic differences that affect bleeding severity and reaction to certain treatments.

Research from CEB (NYSE: CEB), a best practice insight and technology company and the creators of the Challenger™ Selling model, shows that 51 percent of customers who might be willing to buy from a supplier are not willing to advocate for them and help them get deals over the finish line. This is a direct result of the difficult, internal buying process. Unfortunately, sales organizations lack a true understanding of their customers and are unable to simplify the complexities of buying for them.
“Willingness to buy is not the same as willingness to advocate; suppliers need customers to advocate and fight for them to get deals done today,” said Brent Adamson, principal executive advisor at CEB and co-author of The Challenger Sale and The Challenger Customer. “In order to move past ‘good enough’ and ‘status quo,’ suppliers need to go beyond just understanding how customers interact with them, to gaining a thorough understanding of how they work, what is important to them and how they interact with each other.”
