Im Vergleich zum Vorga?ngermodell ist es deutlich gro?ßer geworden - in der La?nge von 4,24 auf 4,42 Meter, im Radstand von 2,58 auf 2,60 Meter und in der Breite von 1,77 auf 1,79 Meter. Dennoch wiegt das A3 Cabriolet in der Basisversion gerade mal 1.345 Kilogramm, das sind rund 60 Kilogramm weniger als bisher. In der Fahrgastzelle sind viele Bauteile aus ultrahochfestem Stahl gefertigt, die Motorhaube besteht aus Aluminium. Auch bei den Motoren und beim Fahrwerk kommt die Leichtbaukompetenz von Audi zum Tragen.
