T. Rowe Price’s 2015 Parents, Kids & Money Survey revealed that parents are letting their kids, who are 8-14 years old, learn about money the hard way, but may not be having the appropriate financial conversations to help guide their decisions. Additionally, the survey found that a growing number of parents think that it is appropriate for schools to teach financial education, and three-quarters of parents think there should be a personal finance requirement to graduate high school.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® officials and guests today marked the opening of the St. Jude Red Frog Events Proton Therapy Center, the first proton therapy center in the world dedicated solely to children with cancer.
Patients are now being treated at the center using precisely delivered, high-energy particles called protons to kill or shrink tumors while minimizing damage to healthy tissue and organs. For patients with brain tumors and certain other cancers, research suggests proton beam therapy may be more effective than conventional radiation at preventing the growth and spread of tumors while reducing the risk of treatment-related side effects.

In a football pitch on June 20th, social media stars Iza and Elle from Sweden set a new world record on having the largest number of girls dancing in one Musical.ly video with a little help from their friends. Co-hosting the event was IFK Stocksund, the local football club where Iza and Elle are playing. Visionworks and Davis Vision kicked off 2017 continuing their work to raise awareness about the importance of annual eye exams for school-aged children by increasing the number of vouchers and glasses they will donate this school year from 10,000 to 15,000. T. Rowe Price's new Family Financial Trade-offs Survey revealed that parents are putting their own retirement security on the back-burner to support their kids' education and cover their own personal student loans.
After T. Rowe Price's 2014 Parents, Kids & Money Survey found that 52% of parents said it was more important to save for their kids' college rather than their own retirement, the firm endeavored to further understand how families balance the competing priorities of saving for retirement and college. The survey is based on a national sample of 2,000 parents who have a retirement account with kids ages 15 and younger.

The American Cancer Society and the CVS Health Foundation today awarded grants to 20 U.S. colleges and universities as part of their Tobacco-Free Generation Campus Initiative (TFGCI), a $3.6 million multi-year program intended to accelerate and expand the adoption and implementation of 100 percent smoke- and tobacco-free campus policies. The announcement coincides this week with the American Cancer Society Great American Smokeout.
The Tobacco-Free Generation Campus Initiative is part of Be The First, CVS Health's five-year, $50 million initiative that supports education, advocacy, tobacco control, and healthy behavior programming to help deliver the nation’s first tobacco-free generation. CVS Health has set actionable and measurable goals for Be The First, including a doubling of the number of tobacco-free college and university campuses in the United States.
