Holland America Line turns its culinary programming up a notch with the introduction of dynamic shipboard cooking shows produced in partnership with the long-running public television show America’s Test Kitchen, the most popular how-to-cook show on TV. Holland America Line’s shipboard Culinary Arts Center will be transformed to replicate the television set where the prominent America’s Test Kitchen TV shows are recorded for broadcast by more than 350 public television stations nationwide. Designed specifically for Holland America Line, the shipboard shows will be hosted by Holland America Line chefs trained by America’s Test Kitchen culinary experts. Shipboard cooking demonstrations and hands-on workshops — with topics ranging from shaping Asian dumplings to making the perfect pie crust — will combine foolproof, accessible recipes and cooking techniques that are rooted in the rigorous testing and science-based approach of America’s Test Kitchen.

The National Restaurant Association (NRA) each year gets in the kitchen with chefs to reveal the top menu trends for the coming year. In honor of its 50-year legacy at the center of the Las Vegas Strip, the iconic Caesars Palace celebrated its golden anniversary with an opulent birthday pool party, featuring a five-tier cake, champagne toast and a 10 minute fireworks extravaganza hosted by award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay. The anniversary festivities continued on Saturday, Aug. 6 with a once in a lifetime gala headlined by world-renowned entertainers Tony Bennett, Jennifer Lopez, Howie Mandel, Wayne Newton, Donny & Marie Osmond, Matt Goss and The Righteous Brothers. Food Network sends Cutthroat Kitchen to camp this summer for the five-episode special series Camp Cutthroat, where twelve cunning chefs compete for victory under the watchful eye of host and head counselor of mayhem Alton Brown. Set in a secret location deep in the wilderness, these memorable Cutthroat alumni battle for the chance to win up to $75,000 in a tournament of great outdoors-themed culinary challenges with a diabolical twist. With extreme tug-of-war and canteen cooking to battles in the camp lake, only the contestants with the strongest culinary chops and sabotage skills make it to the end of camp. The primetime tournament begins on Wednesday, August 12th at 9pm ET/PT (all times ET/PT), leading up to a final showdown between the four winners on Wednesday, September 9th at 9pm.

According to the survey, menu trends that will be heating up in 2017 include poke, house-made charcuterie, street food, food halls and ramen. Trends that are cooling down include quinoa, black rice, and vegetarian and vegan cuisines.
