To help feed the demand for food preparers trained in international cuisine, Centennial College has opened its newly renovated Culinary Arts Centre at the Progress Campus.
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia today announced the largest charitable donation in its history: a landmark $50 million gift from the Buerger family toward the construction of a new state-of-the-art outpatient facility. Currently under construction on the Hospital’s Main Campus in West Philadelphia, the building will be named the Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care.

There was a lot of excitement on the campus of North Shore Animal League America’s national adoption headquarters in New York when Renée Felice Smith of NCIS: Los Angeles loaned her time and talent to co-direct and film a Public Service Announcement for the Mutt-i-grees® Curriculum. The actress was joined by a cast made up of thirty five pre-k, elementary, middle and high school student volunteers. In response to the growing need for quality healthcare in Chicago, Northwestern Medicine is proud to announce the opening of a new, one-million square foot outpatient pavilion at 259 E. The National WWII Museum today opened its newest permanent exhibit: Richard C. Adkerson & Freeport-McMoRan Foundation Road to Tokyo: Pacific Theater Galleries. Retracing the grueling trail that led from Pearl Harbor to Tokyo Bay, Road to Tokyo explores the evolving strategy for fighting relentless Japanese forces in Asia and the Pacific, examining cultural differences, logistical challenges and the staggering range of extreme conditions that confronted American military forces in Asia and the Pacific.
Along with Road to Tokyo, the Museum also opened a new exhibit on the US Merchant Marine. LTJG Ralph E. Crump Merchant Marine Gallery is a stand-alone gallery that honors the mariners who risked their lives transporting weapons, men and matériel to distant warfronts. Features include a video, artifacts, a model of a Liberty ship and an engaging array of personal narratives. The gallery is situated in the Solomon Victory Theater complex, at the end of the American Spirit Bridge – a new glass-and-metal bridge that connects the Museum’s Louisiana Memorial Pavilion with the rest of the six-acre campus for the first time.

Rosecrance, one of the country’s leading teen substance abuse treatment centers, has launched a traveling art exhibit to help parents understand teenagers’ points of view about pressures they encounter and how they are faced with the potential to use, and abuse, substances. Developed by teen patients participating in an art therapy program at Rosecrance’s adolescent campus in Rockford, IL, “In My Shoes” encourages parents to understand their teen’s point of view and actively parent to help teens navigate today’s confusing environment.
