Six months after Superstorm Sandy submerged the City by the Sea, Long Beach-based Powder Pouch LLC today announced Get Sandy Relief, Give Sandy Relief, a charitable program to support friends and neighbors as they work to rebuild their homes.
Powder Pouch, the ingenious product that makes it a breeze to brush off beach sand, was created by a fifth-generation beach family in Long Beach, NY, who are committed to helping their community rebuild and get back to the business of enjoying the beach. As part of Get Sandy Relief, Give Sandy Relief, every Powder Pouch order in 2013 will trigger a donation to support families who are still struggling to overcome the devastation of Superstorm Sandy.

Eagle Rare Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has named Hershel “Woody” Williams of Ona, West Virginia, as the Grand Prize winner of the 2016 Rare Life Award. Eagle Rare will donate $50,000 to Williams’ charity, the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation, and host an awards ceremony in Lexington, Kentucky on February 27, 2016.
