Texas Instruments (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN) today introduced the first all-in-one USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery (PD) controller, which integrates a port power switch and port data multiplexer. The TPS65982 USB PD controller is the only integrated circuit (IC) available that provides the full power path, operating as a Single- or Dual-Role Port and enabling a variety of host and device power implementations.
For applications requiring higher data rates, the TPS65982 can be combined with the 5.4-Gbps HD3SS460, the industry’s first USB Type-C cross-point switch. This solution enables USB connectors on either end of the cable to be flipped up or down, delivers power up to 100 W, and supports Alternate Modes to distribute video over DisplayPort from the host to the end device.

There is a bankruptcy involving claims about exposure to asbestos-containing gaskets, packing, and equipment. Garlock Sealing Technologies LLC, The Anchor Packing Company, and Garrison Litigation Management Group, Ltd., along with representatives of asbestos claimants, have filed a new plan of reorganization (the “Plan”). Coltec Industries Inc is also part of the Plan. If claimants approve the Plan, Coltec will merge with a company known as OldCo, LLC, and that company will file a bankruptcy case. Together, these companies are referred to as the “Debtors.”
The gaskets and packing were used in places where steam, hot liquid, or acids moved through pipes, including industrial and maritime settings. The equipment included compressors, engines, pumps, transformers, and other equipment that may have had asbestos-containing components, such as gaskets or packing. The Coltec-related divisions or businesses that may have sold asbestos-containing products or equipment were Fairbanks Morse, Quincy Compressor, Central Moloney, Delavan, France Compressor, and Farnam.

According to the Epocrates 2014 Mobile Trends Report, the presence of “digital omnivores,” a clinician regularly using digital devices including tablets, smartphones and computers, was 41 percent in 2014 and was predicted to increase to 74 percent in 2015. One of the biggest surges was expected to come from tablet usage, going from 45 percent in 2014 to 80 percent in 2015. Backhoes are much smaller than excavators and are a standard tractor that supports an arm consisting of two segments, the dipper and the boom. The boom further supports the dipper, which holds the bucket. They have acquired the name backhoe by pulling dirt back towards itself.
