Steelcase today launches Gesture, a new sitting experience, designed in response to the company’s latest research about changing postures in the workplace. The global study reveals how new technologies have led to nine new postures — not supported by current office chairs — which frequently cause pain and long-term injuries, disrupting concentration and creativity. The Gesture chair was inspired by studying the movement of the human body and created for the ways people work today. Chlamydia. HPV. Herpes. Gonorrhea. They’re not easy topics to bring up with your teen, but sexually transmitted disease (STD) rates are rising among adolescents. Nearly half of all new STD cases are in young people between the ages of 15 and 24, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Parents can help slow the rise in STD rates by talking to teens about STDs, STD prevention and the importance of STD testing — but first they need to have the facts. BeSmartBeWell.com prepares parents to talk to their kids about STDs by offering a variety of expert interviews, life story videos and resources. Watch the video What Can I Do About It? Women love their hair. They devote time, energy and money to helping it feel and look its best. It’s even a means of self-expression, sometimes more so than a woman’s clothing. BIOTA Botanicals set out to take the pulse of American women regarding how they really feel about their hair – especially as they (and it) ages. According to the national consumer survey, most women 30+ have already noticed and worry about the density of their hair as they age. In fact, more women are concerned about thinning-damaged hair than they are about going grey (58% vs. 51%).+ Many say that the condition is embarrassing and a clear-cut sign of getting older, and most agree that it’s an unpreventable fate. Says Kelli Calabrese, renowned health, beauty and lifestyle expert, “The problem with thinning-damaged hair is not always what’s visible,” she says. “It’s how it rocks a woman’s self-esteem. For women, who put so much emotional value on their hair, it can be absolutely devastating for their self image and emotional well-being.” To view the multimedia release go to: http://www.multivu.com/players/English/7598951-biota-fall-beauty-tips/

The Ad Council and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation today launched new public service ads (PSAs) to support their national Finish Your Diploma campaign to provide adults with the information and encouragement needed to earn a high school equivalency diploma. The new PSAs celebrate adult learners in America and reinforce the idea that no one does it alone. “As adults are considering finishing their diploma, often the greatest challenge is simply knowing where to go for support and having the courage to take the first step towards completing their diploma,” said Denine Torr of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. “By coupling real stories with information about free local adult education classes and resources, we hope the new commercials will inspire and empower individuals to pursue their dreams through education.” To view the multimedia release go to: http://www.multivu.com/players/English/7900051-ad-council-dollar-general-finish-your-diploma/
