Subaru of America, Inc. today announced the completion of a Pet Travel Seat Pilot Study as part of its continued partnership with Center for Pet Safety (CPS), a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit research and consumer advocacy organization. Subaru and CPS have tested pet products most commonly used by pet parents when traveling. Phase one tested pet harnesses, phase two tested pet crates and carriers, and now, phase three has tested pet travel seats.
A pet travel seat is typically used in a vehicle to hold or elevate the pet, but does not offer full containment. The Pet Travel Seat Pilot Study found that while a pet travel seat may offer distraction prevention, it will likely not offer crash protection in the event of an accident, which could lead to injury of the pet and the human vehicle passengers. The quality of commonly available pet travel seats did not provide effective protection in a crash scenario.
Based on the scientific test evidence collected over the past four years, in part through its partnership with Subaru, CPS can now identify the safest travel options for most pets. For small dogs and cats, Center for Pet Safety recommends one of the 2015 Top Performing Carriers; for medium and large dogs either the 2015 Top Performing Crate - Gunner Kennels G1 Intermediate with 8' Tie Down Straps, or a Center for Pet Safety Certified Harness. Beim diesjährigen traditionellen GTI-Treffen am Wörthersee präsentierte Skoda gleich fünf sportliche Modelle. Highlight war die zweifelsohne die Weltpremiere der Studie Rapid SPORT. Außerdem mit dabei der neue Octavia Combi mit Sportpaket, den Citigo Motorsport der Fabia RS Motorsport sowie der erfolgreiche Rallyewagen Fabia S2000. Der Rapid SPORT zeigt das Potential des Skoda Designs und die Möglichkeiten, die im Rapid stecken. Das Fahrzeug ist in den Metallicfarben Corrida-Rot und Steel-Grau lackiert. Satt und markant steht der Sportwagen auf seinen wuchtigen 19-Zoll-Leichtmetall-Rädern. Die Fahrzeugfront besticht durch Spoiler und den kraftvoll gestalteten Lufteinlass in der Schürze. Großzügig dimensionierte Kotflügel und massive Schweller unterstreichen den Auftritt des Fahrzeugs. Weitere sportliche Akzente setzt das Heck mit dem voluminösen Stoßfänger und zwei integrierten Auspuff Endrohren. Pünktlich zur Markteinführung des neuen Octavia Combi präsentierte der tschechische Autobauer auch ein Sportpaket für den Lademeister. Zur Ausstattung gehören ein Frontgrill in glänzendem Schwarz sowie ein rot-schwarzer Frontspoiler. Die Spiegelkappen und die Dachträger sind schwarz-glänzend, der Heckdiffusor in Rot und Schwarz gehalten. Pure Dynamik zeigt auch der Citigo Motorsport: Wirkungsvoll kontrastiert die weiße Wagenfarbe mit schwarzen Längsstreifen auf der Motorhaube und dem dunkel verglasten Panoramadach. Ein spezielles ‚Sport-Kit' umfasst Front- und Dachspoiler sowie Heck-Diffusor, jeweils in der Farbe ‚Deep Black'. In der Frontansicht fällt ein dekorativer schwarzer Streifen am unteren Stoßfänger ins Auge. Der ŠKODA Citigo Motorsport steht auf 16-Zoll-Leichtmetallrädern, alternativ in Weiß oder in der Kombination Schwarz-Metallic/Silber. Ein kompaktes Kraftpaket ist der Fabia RS Motorsport - Edition UK. Das Fahrzeug ist in Candy-Weiß lackiert, dazu gehören schwarze Elemente als spannender Kontrast: Das Dach ist schwarz, ebenso der Frontgrill. Die Frontscheinwerfer sind schwarz hinterlegt, die Nebelscheinwerfer schwarz eingefasst. Die Dachlinie endet mit einem schwarzen Spoiler. Getönte Scheiben betonen den sportlichen Charakter. Ein besonderer Hingucker in Reifnitz war der Rallyewagen Fabia S2000. Das Fahrzeug gehört zu den erfolgreichsten Autos des internationalen Rallyesports. SkyScreamer, the newest sensation in swing rides, has taken flight at Six Flags St.Louis! Famed pilot Erik Lindbergh and Wings of Hope pilots took the inaugural first flight. Standing at 236-feet, SkyScreamer is the tallest ride in the park and the centerpiece of Six Flags St. Louis' 40th anniversary season.
Each of the double, open air swings provides a front row seat for the 32 guests that climb to the top of the SkyScreamer during each flight. Spinning round and round, with feet dangling, guests soar in a 98-ft. circle at speeds up to 43 mph. The massive "world" globe that sits atop the bright, multicolored SkyScreamer tower can be seen from miles away. SkyScreamer is the first swing ride manufactured by Funtime to be built in the United States. Funtime is based in Austria and has been a leader in unique thrill rides since 1972.

SEAT hat nicht nur einen neuen Toledo, sondern auch einen neuen Slogan „Enjoyneering“. Die neue Kompaktklassen-Limousine soll bei Autokäufern für die Entwicklung von Freude sorgen, die ein günstiges und praktisches Auto suchen. Das beginnt schon beim Platzangebot. Obwohl der Toledo wie eine Stufenheck-Limousine wirkt, hat er keine herkömmliche Kofferraum-Klappe. Diese ist wie bei einem Fließheck über der Heckscheibe am Dach angeschlagen und gibt so eine große Öffnung ins Ladeabteil frei. 550 Liter lassen sich so bequem verstauen. Doch nicht nur beim Laderaum kann der neue Toledo überzeugen. Viel Platz im Innenraum bietet er dank 2,60 Meter Radstand auch auf der Rücksitzbank. Weil der Innenraum recht hoch ausgefallen ist, fühlen sich auch Mitfahrer über 1,80 Meter kommod untergebracht. Die Benzinmotoren-Palette reicht von 75 bis 122 PS, dazu gesellt sich ein Diesel, der 105 PS leistet.
Ein eindeutiges Bekenntnis zum Motorsport und zu seinen privaten Kundenteams lieferte Seat beim legendären GTI-Treffen am Südufer des Wörthersees. Klarer Held auf dem Seat Stand dabei der neue Leon Cup Racer. Er zeigt bereits sehr konkret, wie ein neuer Renntourenwagen für den Einsatz in den verschiedensten weltweiten Rennserien aussehen kann. So bildet der 243 kW/330 PS starke Leon Cup Racer die Basis für die Entwicklungsarbeiten und Testfahrten der kommenden Monate. Begleitet wird der Cup Racer auf dem Seat Stand von fünf weiteren, besonders feurigen und individuell ausgestatteten Versionen der Baureihen Ibiza und Leon sowie einem umfangreichen Programm für die Fans der spanischen Marke. Schon optisch liefert der auf dem fünftürigen Leon basierende und in metallischem Matt-Grau mit orangefarbenen Akzenten lackierte Cup Racer einen beeindruckenden Auftritt: Überaus kraftvoll steht er auf seinen 18 Zoll-Rennrädern, immerhin ist die Spurbreite des Rennwagens fast 40 Zentimeter größer als beim Serienmodell. Die neue Front ist auf optimale aerodynamische Effizienz und maximale Belüftung von Motor und Bremsanlage ausgelegt, die mächtigen Radhäuser mit ihren Öffnungen an der Rückseite unterstützen die Kühlwirkung für die Vierkolben-Bremsanlage. Die Schweller sind weit herausgezogen, zusammen mit dem Frontspoiler, dem glatten Unterboden, dem Diffusor am Heck sowie dem zweistufigen, auf einer Stütze montierten Dachspoiler schaffen sie maximalen Abtrieb für hohe Kurvengeschwindigkeiten. Rennfertig präsentiert sich auch das Interieur. Konsequente Gewichtsreduktion und die Konzentration auf das Wesentliche bestimmen den von einem höchstfesten Käfig zusätzlich geschützten Innenraum. Die Grundform des Seriencockpits bleibt erhalten, die Fahrerinformation und die Bedienung des Rennwagens konzentrieren sich aber auf das Multifunktions-Lenkrad und das hochauflösende TFT-Display dahinter. Für mächtigen Vortrieb sorgt ein Zweiliter-Vierzylinder-Turbomotor. Seine maximale Leistung beträgt 243 kW/330 PS, das maximale Drehmoment liegt bei 350 Newtonmeter. Für die Kraftübertragung auf die Vorderachse sorgen ein 6-Gang-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe DSG, bedient am Lenkrad, und ein elektronisch gesteuertes Sperrdifferential. Eine spezielle Variante des Cup Racer für Langstreckenrennen kann mit einem sequentiellen Renngetriebe mit Schalthebel auf der Mittelkonsole und einem mechanischen Sperrdifferential ausgerüstet werden. Selbst ein vorläufiger Kaufpreis für den Leon Cup Racer ist bereits definiert: 70.000 € (ohne Mehrwertsteuer) soll die Version mit DSG-Getriebe kosten, 95.000 € (ebenfalls ohne Mehrwertsteuer) die Langstrecken-Ausführung mit sequentiellem Getriebe und mechanischem Sperrdifferential.
Erstmals gibt es in der Leon-Familie ein dreitüriges Modell. SEAT bietet ihn mit dem Namenszusatz SC an. Das Kürzel steht für Sportcoupé und soll die Sinne das Fahrers mehr ansprechen, als die Konkurrenz in der Kompaktklasse. Dass er dynamischer als sein fünftüriger Bruder wirkt, hat weniger mit den zwei fehlenden Türen zu tun. Der Radstand ist um rund dreieinhalb Zentimeter geschrumpft, das Dach um 1,5 Zentimeter flacher geworden. Verbunden mit den kurzen Überhängen vorn und hinten und den seitlichen scharf geformten Linien, symbolisiert er bereits im Stand seine Sportlichkeit.

Furthermore, the stylish ink jet printed seat covers of the SD15 show what Johnson Controls can do in terms of individualization. The weight and space saving multi-material seats padded with highly ergonomic foam parts pave the way towards the demands of lightweight design. Many SD15 features support the megatrend of autonomous driving in the future “multi-talented” vehicle seat.
The SD15’s front row features a power driver seat mounted to a curved track, eliminating the need for separate and complex mechanisms found in conventional seat arrangements. The seat offers a control console mounted directly to the seat structure that moves conveniently with the occupant, instead of being fixed between the seats which offers wireless charging options for mobile devices.

The ranks of top-rated booster seats continue to grow as manufacturers design models to earn high marks in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s annual booster seat evaluations, plus offer the style and convenience parents look for when it’s time to pick a safe seat for their booster-age children.
Among the 41 models new for 2014, there are 27 BEST BET seats — more than in any prior year — and three GOOD BETs. Eight boosters are in a category the Institute calls “Check Fit,” and there are three new models that the Institute doesn’t recommend using as boosters. Prices for BEST BET boosters start around $25 and go up to about $370, depending on features, and several models are LATCH compatible.
