The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation has announced that the Federal Law “On the preparation and holding in the Russian Federation the FIFA World Cup 2018™ and the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and introduction of the amendments to some Russian Federation legislative acts” was published on the official website of the President of Russia (http://kremlin.ru/acts/news/57003). The changes to the legislation have concerned the duration of possible entry into the Russian Federation for tourists who plan to cross the Russian federal border using FAN ID. Foreign spectators and stateless persons can enter Russia with their within the time period that starts 10 days prior to the date of the first match and ends on the date of the last match, i.e. it will be possible to enter Russia with a FAN ID from June 4 to July 15, 2018. The FAN ID holders must leave the country no later than July 25, 2018. Foreign spectators and stateless persons can also exit Russia using a FAN ID either in the laminated form or in electronic format if they have valid documents of identification. In honor of Smokey Bear’s 72nd birthday, the Ad Council, the U.S. Forest Service, and the National Association of State Foresters (NASF) launched a new series of public service advertisements (PSAs) that aim to help prevent wildfires nationwide by increasing awareness about less commonly known ways that wildfires can start. The National Limousine Association (NLA) and When Georgia Smiled: The Robin McGraw Revelation Foundation (WGS) join forces on The Aspire Initiative, a domestic violence program, which aims to reduce the level of intimate relationship violence in the US and instill the importance of bystander responsibility. With an escalating number of passenger assaults alleged against ride-hailing app drivers, the NLA believes Aspire is vital to ending violence and sexual assault. Robin McGraw announced the partnership in a video message posted to her Foundation’s Facebook timeline on Friday, November 20th. The message was then shared by Robin’s husband and television personality Dr. Phil McGraw to his show’s Facebook page timeline on Monday, November 23rd. The Aspire Initiative is available free of charge and includes a potentially-lifesaving smartphone app, Aspire News, a smartphone app available as a free download on Google Play, as well as at www.whengeorgiasmiled.org, that allows the user to create a pre-written text or voice message to be sent to designated numbers (i.e., 911 or other chosen contacts) with just the tap of a button. The ignition of the app‘s “go button” also starts a recording to capture the details of the domestic violence encounter and/or other dangerous events taking place.
