Last winter was one of the harshest, hitting millions of Americans with spikes in their winter utility bills. Unfortunately, here we are, one year later, facing yet another polar vortex. Meteorologists predict some of the coldest blasts of frigid temperatures over the next several days, which has energy experts worried about the impact on consumers’ utility bills, as well as on the reliability of the electric grid we all depend on.
As Polar Vortex 2015 moves across the country, consumers could face spikes in electricity bills, with seniors on fixed incomes and lower income Americans hit the hardest. According to a recent survey, high energy prices already have forced more than 40 percent of low-income seniors to go without needed medical or dental care, and even to skip meals or shut off the heat on cold days.
It may seem odd to be predicting another energy price spike since oil, natural gas and coal prices have all fallen recently. But it’s not the market that will be driving prices higher. It’s politics.

The XO system is a revolutionary solution for beverage cans that allows people to reseal a beverage can multiple times and enjoy it at their leisure. "Close Your Eyes" takes you on a personal journey of an empathetic story, with her accompanied music video. Featuring a minimal backdrop, the direction perfectly fits with the dramatic storyline and emotional lyrics. Proving that this single can already be a classic ballad, Roxanna's heartfelt message is strongly emphasized by the elegance of her beautiful vocals. Just from the first few bars of music, you'll be mystified by the music inviting you to continue to listen to this story she is singing to you.
"I believe "Close Your Eyes" can relate to many people who have lost loved ones or losing their hope. When people are listening to the lyrics I'd like them to know they are not alone. I wish to heal them with this song." - RoXanna

There’s a dance that goes on between mothers and their newborns: the initiation of relationship and communication. However, current culturally driven health and child care practices are interrupting the dance and causing more harm than good. As a result, parents, especially first time parents, often require a great deal of education and support.
Dr. Barbara Morrison (DrBarb) is a certified nurse midwife dedicated to advocating, educating and inspiring healthcare reform for newborns and their families. As the founder and CEO of DrBarbCNM, LLC (http://www.DrBarbCNM.com), DrBarb is among the leading advocates of Kangaroo Care, the method of holding a newborn or infant skin-to skin, chest-to-chest to strengthen the bond between parent and child and to encourage breastfeeding and mental, social and physical development.
