Just in time for National Cheeseburger Day, The Capital Grille announced today the return of Wagyu & Wine, an elevated twist of Wagyu burgers paired with elegant wines. Now through Nov. 19, guests are invited to The Capital Grille’s lounge to experience three Wagyu burgers, paired with one of three hand-selected wines from the esteemed Wagner winemakers.
For $25*, guests can enjoy a gourmet Wagyu burger paired with one of three prestigious wines, typically available exclusively by the bottle: Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley); Belle Glos Las Alturas Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands); and Emmolo Merlot (Napa Valley). These exceptional wines were hand-selected by The Capital Grille’s Advanced Sommelier Brian Phillips to pair perfectly with the gourmet Wagyu burgers.

In honor of the 40th Anniversary of the Judgment of Paris this May, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars will release the 2013 vintage of its iconic S.L.V. Estate Cabernet Sauvignon with a commemorative label replicating the original 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon which took top honors among the red wines at the 1976 Paris Tasting.
Triumphing over two first-growth and other renowned wines of Bordeaux, the 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon brought international recognition to Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Napa Valley and the American wine industry as a whole. To mark the historic event, the commemorative 2013 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon carries a small gold band saying “40th Anniversary Vintage,” and releases at the winery May 1, 2016.
“The surprise win in 1976 by Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars – and Chateau Montelena Winery with their Chardonnay – truly changed the course of history,” said Ted Baseler, President and CEO of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars. “What the Judgment of Paris did was give credibility. It was a trigger event that gave validity to the quality of American wines. It set a high benchmark and legacy for the winery, and one that we work every day to respect and take to new heights.”

Last year, Columbia Crest became the first winery to crowdsource a wine from vineyard to table through an interactive online community experience called Crowdsourced™ Cabernet. While the resulting wine of the 2014 vintage ages in barrel, the Crowdsourced Cabernet community will still have the chance to weigh-in on important winemaking decisions. First, Columbia Crest will be expanding the program by adding a 2015 vintage and allowing one lucky fan to play a larger role in the winemaking process. In addition, fans will be able to participate in critical weekly voting decisions for both the 2014 and 2015 vintages online at CrowdsourcedCabernet.com and, new for this year, choose the label design for the 2014 vintage.

The Internet now has a vineyard — a premium, award-winning one at that. Beginning today, Columbia Crest — the only Washington winery to be awarded Wine Spectator’s No. 1 Wine in the World* — will help the online community of wine-lovers create the first-ever Crowdsourced Cabernet Sauvignon from the beginning stages of the vineyard all the way to bottling and selling the wine through a new online experience.
