Wiping up finger paint and tackling juice spills is a routine every parent has down pat. Yet they may find themselves playing hide-and-seek with the invisible things little hands leave behind—like bacteria and viruses. Germs stick to all types of surfaces, and kids spread them to more places than you can imagine.
To track down where germs linger, The Clorox Company and global public health organization NSF International conducted a study in homes of families with young children. Researchers analyzed 100 samples from five commonly-touched surfaces, and found bacteria or viruses on all five of the surfaces tested, from the kitchen to the common area to the bathroom, with the bathroom sink being one of the surfaces with the most germs. In fact, the study results found that four times as many households had bathroom sinks that were germier than kitchen countertops.

Usually, people think that lightning is the fastest thing in the world. Is there anything else comparable with lightning speed? Recently, an experiment was conducted, comparing the unlocking speed of a mobile phone with lightning speed, and the OPPO F1 Plus mobile phone was chosen because the tagline says it can unlock in 0.2 seconds.
The experimenter released the lightning by means of Tesla coil and triggered switch and fingerprint membrane, and the experimental result shows that lightning and OPPO F1 Plus unlocking almost simultaneously happen.
OPPO F1 Plus fingerprint unlocking so fast lies in its recognition system, featuring adaptive, self-learning, and dynamic matching abilities. OPPO F1 Plus can adapt to the various states of the user’s fingers, and dry or wet fingers can smoothly unlock it. Under certain conditions, the system will automatically learn, and constantly improve, the fingerprint information of the users, thus decreasing obviously false acceptance rate and false rejection rate. John Peden was one of those larger-than-life personalities. “When he would walk into a room, it was like all the attention was on him,” said his stepdaughter, Jenna Peden. “He just had this power emanating out of him.”

Hilary Duff, new mother to 22-month-old son Luca, is volunteering her time to help the March of Dimes raise funds to help give more babies a healthy start in life.

The lion’s roar will soon return to Audubon Zoo thanks to Joy and Donald “Boysie” Bollinger.
Boysie Bollinger, a philanthropist and Louisiana shipbuilding magnate, and his wife have donated $5 million to Audubon Nature Institute that will fund design and construction of a sprawling habitat for African lions. Audubon officials say the project will spur a larger redesign of the Zoo’s popular African Savanna exhibit that opened in the 1980s.
The $5 million donation – the largest single gift Audubon Zoo has ever received from a private individual or family – was announced on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.
