The Lincoln Continental, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Toyota Avalon come out at the top of a group of six large cars recently evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The three cars qualify for TOP SAFETY PICK+, the Institute’s highest award. The Tesla Model S, the Chevrolet Impala and the Ford Taurus fall short of any award because they each earn only an acceptable rating in the small overlap front test.
Vehicles qualify for either the TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ award if they have good ratings from IIHS in five crashworthiness tests — small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints — and an available front crash prevention system that earns a superior or advanced rating. To qualify for TOP SAFETY PICK+, a vehicle also must come with good or acceptable headlights
Rare examples of classic cars can attract enormous interest from buyers, regularly breaking sales price records. Lauritz Lauritzen is the owner of one such car, Mercedes-Benz, cabriolet type B, model 320 from 1938 is the only one in the world produced at Mannheim Mercedes-Benz. Lauritz is excited about what price the car might fetch when it goes under the hammer in Denmark on June 26. The Mercedes represents the pinnacle of the German marque and only thirty-four cars were ever built.
This 1938c car is even more special as it is a top of the range ”Mannheim”-car further equipped with everything Mercedes could think of. In its time, it was probably one of the world's best cars. Today it presents itself accordingly - but only because the enthusiastic owner has put thousands of hours into it. Lauritz Lauritzen found the car in a barn in 1980 as a complete wreck, and the skilled Mercedes mechanic took on the challenge of restoring it to its former glory. Eleven years later the car was running again.

Mercedes-AMG schickt den neuen S 63 AMG ins Rennen: Die stärkste High-Performance-Limousine im Luxus-Segment setzt neue Akzente bei Fahrdynamik, Leichtbau und Effizienz. Garant für souveräne Fahrleistungen ist der AMG 5,5-Liter-V8-Biturbomotor mit 430 kW (585 PS) sowie 900 Newtonmetern Drehmoment – das stärkste Mitglied der BlueDIRECT Motorenfamilie. Durch intelligenten Leichtbau nach der Philosophie „AMG Lightweight Performance“ bringt der S 63 AMG bis zu 100 Kilogramm weniger auf die Waage als der Vorgänger. Die Kombination aus effizientem Antrieb und Absenkung des Fahrzeuggewichts führt zu einem Kraftstoffverbrauch von 10,1 bis 10,3 Litern je 100 Kilometer nach NEFZ gesamt. Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC (MBFS) today announced it is adding an in-vehicle account management app to its suite of mobile tools for its customers in the United States.
The new app, called My MBFS, will automatically be added to the cloud-based infotainment system on model year 2013 and newer Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with the COMAND Navigation and a subscription to mbrace2™ with Mercedes-Benz Apps. My MBFS joins existing apps from Google, Yelp! and Facebook.
