TransCelerate BioPharma Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of people around the world by simplifying and accelerating research and development of innovative new therapies, has unveiled a new global campaign designed to help increase awareness of the growing need for clinical trial participants. The campaign, called “One Person Closer,” focuses on inspiring healthcare professionals (HCPs) to consider clinical research as a possibility for their patients, incorporate the topic into their daily practices, and have meaningful conversations with patients about opportunities to participate in clinical trials.
One Person Closer is designed to put a human face on research and development by sharing the personal stories of researchers, HCPs and patients who have contributed to clinical research and the development of medical breakthroughs. The photojournalist campaign aims to show doctors, nurses and other HCPs that they can help facilitate research that advances science and that may benefit their patients.

When temperatures start to fall and days become shorter it is time to take your car to the workshop to prepare it for the winter. Thirty five percent of New Yorkers do not feel prepared for an emergency, such as a natural disaster, fire, power outage or act of terrorism according to a 2013 survey conducted by the New York City Office of Emergency Management (OEM). September is National Preparedness Month (NPM) and a new public service advertising (PSA) campaign is launching today to encourage New York families to create an emergency plan. The PSAs were distributed to media outlets throughout the New York City area and will be running in donated time and space.

Continuing a multi-year string of quality and reliability awards and accolades, J.D. Power’s 2017 Initial Quality Study (IQS) today recognized Kia Motors as the highest-ranking nameplate in the United States for the second year in a row. Kia’s improvement to 72 problems per 100 vehicles marks the best nameplate performance within the last 20 years of the study, driven by five segment awards – the most of any nameplate — for the Soul (Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle), Forte (Compact Car), Cadenza (Large Car), Niro (Small SUV) and Sorento (Midsize SUV). The Kia Soul took home an IQS award for the third consecutive year while Kia’s two newest models, Cadenza and Niro, were outstanding performers in their first model year, with the Kia Cadenza earning the top score among all models ranked in the study. Together with the Optima and Sportage , each of the seven award eligible Kia models included in the 2017 IQS study finished first or second in their respective categories.
