Viele Kaufentscheidungen basieren jedoch nicht nur auf rationalen, sondern auch emotionalen Erwägungen. Sportivität, Fahrspaß und attraktives Design sind einige dieser Bauch-Faktoren. Und da beim bislang schnellsten 208 die alle zu finden sind, hat der ab Mitte Mai bei den Händlern stehende Dreitürer gute Chancen, sich einen angesehenen Platz in der Nische der leistungsstarken Kleinwagen zu sichern.
Der A3 ist das Volumenmodell von Audi, mehr als 20 Prozent aller Verkäufe der Ingolstädter entfallen auf ihn. Da stellt sich bei jedem Generationswechsel regelmäßig die Frage, ob eine Revolution oder eben nur eine Evolution ansteht. Audi hat sich bei der dritten Generation seines Bestsellers in der Kompaktklasse für eine eigene Lösung entschieden. Moderate Detailarbeit am Blechkleid, aber enorme Aufstockung der inneren Werte. Und zudem noch einen drauf gesetzt. Mit der ab Herbst startenden Limousine ist Audi nun auch erstmals im global größten Marktsegment vertreten. Die Ingolstädter Verkaufsstrategen gehen dabei davon aus, dass die Limousine künftig einen fünfzigprozentigen Verkaufsanteil haben wird, der Volumenanteil also noch steigern wird.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-powered charity dedicated to funding children’s cancer research, is recognizing National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with a number of activities planned throughout September. As the leading non-governmental funder of childhood cancer research grants, St. Baldrick’s is asking people to get involved by helping to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.
“One in five kids with cancer will die in the first five years of diagnosis, and those that do survive face a lifetime of serious health issues caused by the toxicity of their cure,” said Kathleen Ruddy, CEO of St. Baldrick’s. “The American public wants kids with cancer to be a national health priority, but our leaders are leaving these kids behind with the lack of federal research funding. We are calling upon everyone to speak up about the need for increased childhood cancer research funding as well as to stand up in support of kids with cancer during this important month.”
Today, as part of the official kickoff for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, St. Baldrick’s will ring the opening bell at the NASDAQ Stock Market. St. Baldrick’s board members will be joined by researchers, as well as children and families directly affected by childhood cancer.

Die Abgasuntersuchung (AU) ist in ihrer aktuellen Form nicht geeignet, um Fehler in der Abgasreinigung verlässlich aufzudecken und unnötige und vermeidbare Luftverschmutzung zu verhindern. Zu diesem Ergebnis kommt die Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V. (DUH) nach eigenen Messungen und forderte deshalb heute auf einer Presse-Konferenz in Berlin angesichts der aktuellen Revision der EU-Verordnung zur AU eine rasche Anpassung der Abgasuntersuchung. Die Umwelt- und Verbraucherschutzorganisation hatte mehrere Dieselfahrzeuge prüfen lassen, die vorher die AU durchlaufen hatten. Das nicht akzeptable Ergebnis: Die Hälfte der Autos erhielt die Prüfplakette nach geltenden Kriterien, obwohl ihre Emissionen nachweislich stark erhöht waren.
In honor of World Pancreatic Cancer Day on Nov. 16, people around the world will come together to Demand Better in the fight against the world’s toughest cancer, starting with earlier diagnosis. The annual one-day campaign is an initiative of the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition, which is comprised of more than 60 organizations from 27 countries on six continents.
Every day, more than 1,000 people worldwide will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Of that, an estimated 985 will die from the disease. Additionally, pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate among all major cancers, and in nearly every country, it is the only major cancer with a single-digit five-year survival rate (2-9 percent). These stunning figures are not merely statistics, they represent family members, friends and colleagues on every corner of the globe.
“This year, we are turning World Pancreatic Cancer Day from a day of awareness to a day of action,” said Julie Fleshman, JD, MBA, World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition chair. “As we expand our global movement to end pancreatic cancer, we are demanding better for pancreatic cancer patients now and in the future.”

Today, Novo Nordisk announced a three-year extension of its Changing Diabetes® in Children programme. Since 2009, free insulin and access to diabetes care have been provided to more than 13,000 children in nine countries in Africa and South-East Asia. During the five years, 108 diabetes clinics have been established and 5,479 healthcare professionals have received diabetes care training.
