This Memorial Day weekend, PBS brings viewers an inspiring night of remembrance dedicated to our men and women in uniform, their families at home and all those who have given their lives for our country. The multi award-winning NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT returns live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol co-hosted by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna and Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinise. The broadcast marks the tenth anniversary that the acclaimed actors, who have dedicated themselves to veterans’ causes and supporting our troops in active service, co-host the event. Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISLE) today announced the winners of its first charitable social media contest awarding a share of $60,000 to six local nonprofit organizations.
“With over 155,000 votes cast in Community Aces Challenge and over 300 applications to participate, we were thrilled with the response to Isle’s first charitable contest on social media,” said Virginia McDowell, Isle’s president and chief executive officer. “As we watched the results and saw how hard all of the charities were working to garner votes, we decided to add a third place prize to the competition.”
“The 150 participating nonprofit organizations registered in the fourth quarter of 2014 and coordinated their own individual voting campaigns between Feb. 1 and March 20, 2015,” said McDowell. “We commend the efforts of all the organizations in the Challenge! Walgreens and the National Urban League announce the return of the Walgreens Wellness Tour with the National Urban League. For the ninth year, Walgreens and the National Urban League are joining together for this community outreach program dedicated to providing free preventative and early detection health services to urban and at-risk communities across the country. Now through November, Walgreens will use the tour to help provide free health tests, assessments, education and consulting services to Americans in select markets nationwide.

Significant advances toward cures for blood cancer patients, many of which were funded by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) over the past 65 years, are among the dramatic highlights featured in Ken Burns presents CANCER: THE EMPEROR OF ALL MALADIES, a film by Barak Goodman, to air on PBS stations nationwide from March 30-April 1. The documentary series is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Siddhartha Mukherjee, MD, The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer.
LLS has been a driving force behind treatment breakthroughs for patients with blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. As the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to finding cures for blood cancer patients, LLS has invested more than $1billion in research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures.

World Water Day is March 22, and the children and youth of Children International are celebrating around the world. They know firsthand the difference clean, accessible water can make in their lives.
Some of them also know what it feels like to make clean water available to others. In 2012, the youth of Children International in Lusaka, Zambia, dedicated their Youth Empowerment Fund to extend the supply of clean, piped water to the poor community of Chibolya.
