Celebrating 35 spectacular years on air, A CAPITOL FOURTH will kick off the country’s 239th birthday with an all-star musical extravaganza hosted by Emmy and SAG Award-winning actor Bradley Whitford. The gala anniversary celebration will be headlined by music legend Barry Manilow who will open and close the concert broadcast with a special patriotic medley. Broadcast live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, the star spangled party will also feature performances by: the most successful country music group of all time, Alabama; Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, with over 70 million album sales, Nicole Scherzinger; five-time Grammy nominee, CMA Award winner and multi-instrumentalist Hunter Hayes; vocal powerhouse Meghan Linsey (THE VOICE); Grammy award-winning and multi-platinum selling band, fronted by the Founder of the Dance Revolution, KC and the Sunshine Band; world renowned piano virtuoso Lang Lang; and inspirational classical cross-over global star and Irish tenor Ronan Tynan; with the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Jack Everly. In celebration of American icon Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday, the award-winning star of film, television and the concert stage Robert Davi will pay tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes.

Vandell’s debut record takes its namesake from that same title, one
that has been hard-earned by Vandell over years of intense work. The
African-native instrumentalist has released one of the more intriguing
and eclectic instrumental records thus far this year on the indie
scene. What makes the ‘One-Girl Symphony’ so interesting is Vandell’s
hand over a vast array of genres. The record style-hops with ridiculous
tact, shifting from classical influences to rock and roll and blues in
seamless movements. Speaking of which, there actually are movements.
Her debut album is broken into four autobiographical sections of three
songs each: Teenage Turbulence, The Formative Years, Return to
Innocence & Hope, and Empty Promises to Broken Hearts.
To mark the one-year anniversary of the most popular Tiny Desk Concert ever and the 10th anniversary of his debut album, Rappa Ternt Sanga, we hosted T-Pain at our Washington, D.C. headquarters. Walt Disney Records is set to release a new hologram vinyl version of the original motion picture soundtrack for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With score conducted and composed by five-time Academy Award®-winning composer John Williams and liner notes by the film’s director, J.J. Abrams, the double LP features a 16-page booklet on 180 gram vinyl. This one-of-a-kind vinyl set, hand etched by Tristan Duke (Jack White’s Lazaretto) of Infinity Light Science, offers a 3D hologram experience featuring the Millennium Falcon on Disc 1/Side B and a TIE Fighter on Disc 2/Side B. On Thursday, July 28, the Estate of Michael Jackson teamed up with Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil and Mandalay Bay to pay tribute to the King of Pop as they unveiled his iconic HIStory Statue. Featured on the cover of his world-famous album HIStory: Past, Present and Future Book 1, which became the best selling multiple disc album worldwide, the HIStory Statue is the third piece of memorabilia to be loaned by the Estate for display on the Mandalay Bay property.
The highly anticipated unveiling ceremony took place in the Main Lobby of Mandalay Bay, where fans had the opportunity to witness the live reveal of this historic sculpture. To welcome the piece, members from the cast of Michael Jackson ONE delivered a never-before-seen performance created especially for this event, dazzling the audience as they performed to “SCREAM,” the first single from the HIStory album. Following the performance, fans were able to meet and take photos with those cast members.

Piano legend Byron Janis releases Byron Janis Live on Tour, an album of never before released live recordings of performances by the internationally celebrated pianist. It is Maestro Janis’ first release of new material in twenty years and celebrates the 70th anniversary of his very first RCA LP recording in 1947 at the age of 19 titled Bach/Liszt, Chopin. Byron Janis Live on Tour is an exclusive compilation of twelve works composed by Haydn, Chopin & Liszt. Also featured are two pieces composed for stage and screen by Janis himself, a “hot” collaboration on two pianos with Cy Coleman and, finally, a song he composed, “David’s Star,” for which his son Stefan wrote the lyrics. This album is dedicated to him, who died tragically of a heart attack in February of this year. The album is due to be released by Janis Eleven Enterprises, LTD on May 23 in honor of his 89th birthday which was celebrated on March 24, 2017. Each Volume will have a limited edition pressed vinyl release.
This release is the first of a three CD release musical journey. In the fall, Maestro Janis will release “Live from Leningrad,” a recording made in the early sixties in Russia. This was recorded unbeknownst to him while he was serving as a US Cultural Ambassador to the Soviet Union and surreptitiously presented to him nearly sixty years later. Then, just in time for the holidays, Byron Janis Live on Tour, Volume II will be available. Similar in format to Volume I, it will include a compilation of live recordings of performances of Mr. Janis from all over the world.
