Boehringer Ingelheim announced today a new partnership with Minor League Baseball® (MiLB™) to further raise awareness of the rare lung disease idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) through its Breathless™ campaign. The operating room (OR) needs better supply chain management systems and analytics to help reduce costs and support patient safety, according to a new Cardinal Health survey of surgical staff and hospital supply chain decision-makers.
Nearly half (40 percent) of respondents revealed they’ve actually canceled a case, and more than two-thirds (69 percent) have delayed a case because of missing supplies. Furthermore, 27 percent have seen or heard of an expired product being used on a patient, and 23 percent have seen or heard of a patient harmed due to a lack of supplies.

Having lost his mother to the disease, singer, songwriter Gavin DeGraw knows firsthand how devastating pancreatic cancer is for patients and their families. Gavin is turning his grief into action by helping the Lustgarten Foundation raise awareness by encouraging people to get involved with the Foundation.
“My mother didn’t make it and unfortunately right now that’s a common story. Following the unprecedented Gore REDUCE Clinical Study conclusion that closure of patent foramen ovale (PFO) can prevent recurrent ischemic strokes, W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. Oura Health, the Finnish health technology company behind the Oura ring, has moved its total private funding to 12.5M€ after the closure of a round led by US-based Bold Capital Partners and Finland’s Tesi. The funding will be used to scale US market operations and push the Oura platform forward.
