This Earth Day, sustainability pioneer Fetzer Vineyards announces completion of its revolutionary BIDA® wastewater treatment system, which relies on billions of worms to clean up the winery’s process water. The California vintner’s worms — which work in tandem with microbes to digest contaminants in greywater — are at the heart of a natural system from BioFiltro that uses 85% less energy to clean winery water, regenerating up to 17 million gallons annually for re-use in vineyards and landscaping. The new system is one of a number of Earth-friendly innovations Fetzer Vineyards has recently introduced in an effort to preserve vital resources and find ever-more-efficient ways to put planet conservation on an even playing field with premium winemaking. In her newest YA novel, VASSA IN THE NIGHT, Sarah Porter has merged the dark, forested world of Russian folklore with the gritty, urban streets of Brooklyn to vibrant and dramatic effect. In the enchanted kingdom of Brooklyn, the fashionable people put on cute shoes, go to parties in warehouses, drink on rooftops at sunset, and tell themselves they’ve arrived. Babs Yaga, the owner of the local convenience store, has a policy of beheading shoplifters—and sometimes innocent shoppers as well. So when Vassa’s stepsister sends her out for light bulbs in the middle of night, she knows it could easily become a suicide mission. But Vassa has a bit of luck hidden in her pocket, a gift from her dead mother. Erg is a tough-talking wooden doll with sticky fingers, a bottomless stomach, and a ferocious cunning. With Erg’s help, Vassa just might be able to break the witch’s curse and free her Brooklyn neighborhood. But Babs won’t be playing fair…. Find out more at http://www.sarahporterbooks.com/ YA/Fantasy

Esurance caused a bit of a scene. The home and auto insurer staged a fender bender to encourage safe driving, an important message to address the recent series of car accidents caused by people playing mobile games while driving. The scene on Chicago’s popular Magnificent Mile featured a car’s run-in with a hot dog cart, all caused by a fictional distracted driver and Esurance mobile game-inspired creature that causes fender benders, the Fenderbendix. As visitors walked past the jarring scene, they discovered that nobody was hurt. And they learned an important message about safe driving, smart people #DontCatchAndDrive. “We’re always looking for unexpected, relatable ways to connect with people. Staging this scene allowed us to capture people’s attention and send an important message about safe driving,” said Alan Gellman, chief marketing officer at Esurance. “We understand the appeal of exciting modern technology like augmented reality gaming, but we want people to be smart about how they use it.” To view the multimedia release go to: http://www.multivu.com/players/English/7910451-esurance-don%E2%80%99t-catch-and-drive/

What do I know about Pokemon? ..... About as much as I know about anything else that I write .... Self taught lessons in song writing A: Don't write anything about your life that pertains to no one else but yourself ... They only want to know about you after you're dead and famous ... so write songs about other people who you know nothing about who are already dead and famous so that you don't feel inclined to kill yourself in the hopes of making it big in the afterlife ... B: Never write about anything that you actually know about because then people who do not know a thing about the subject matter will want to debate your point of view endlessly whereas those who are wiser than yourself will soon discover that there really isn't too much that you actually do know about and thus ... so end's your "How to do and live your life" song writing career ... C: If someone ever approaches me to ask "Hey Steve .... Do you really know all about Pokemon, bro?" ... I then reply back with "Oh yeah man ... That's why I wrote the song ... Every time I see that someone is playing POKEMON ... I know then that it's time for me to GO !!!!" Lyrics There's a new dance that's going around. Everyone's starting to talk. There's no doubt about it, you can scream and shout it. It's the hottest rock on the block. You can do it anywhere, over here, over there cuz "because" everyone is hopping to the Pokemon Rock. Shake your head and spin it around. Add a little BE to your BOP. You don't need to worry if you're in no hurry. You can try again and start from the top. You can do it anywhere, over here, over there cuz everyone is hopping t the Pokemon Rock. Wave your hands and fling them around. Take a little spin and then stop. You don't need to snooze on if you've got no shoes on, you can bare your feet and dance in one sock. You can do it anywhere, over here, over there cuz everyone is hopping to the Pokemon Rock.

On Saturday, May 21, some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry celebrated the 90th birthday of the legendary Tony Bennett at Keep Memory Alive’s 20th annual Power of Love® gala at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The star-studded event raised funds and awareness for Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and its fight against brain disease including Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s diseases, multiple sclerosis and multiple system atrophy. Highlights from the night included a performance by honoree Tony Bennett and heartfelt tributes by James Corden, Andra Day, Herbie Hancock, Darius Rucker, Jordin Sparks, Steven Tyler and more. Day kicked off the show with her rendition of “Steppin’ Out With My Baby,” while Corden performed his version of “Don’t Get Around Much More.” Later in the evening, Sparks teamed up with pianist Dan Orlando to perform a medley of hits including “The Best Is Yet To Come,” “Alright OK You Win” and “It Don’t Mean A Thing.” Rucker treated guests to hit single “Sunny Side of The Street,” before Hancock took the stage to perform “Chameleon” and “Cantaloupe Island.” Tyler joined the elite ensemble to perform “Smile” with jazz trumpeter Chris Botti before singing Aerosmith classic “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.” The man of the evening, Bennett, performed numerous hits including “Watch What Happens” and “How Do You Keep The Music Playing.” To close the show, the entire cast sang Bennett “Happy Birthday” and presented him with a celebratory cake.
