Jason Rogers, 12, a 7th grade student at Bondurant Middle School in Frankfort, likes sports and plays football, basketball, baseball and soccer. He also likes math and, if he doesn’t get to play professional sports when he grows up, he wants to be an engineer.
Jason is one of 700 minority boys from middle schools in four states who are spending several weeks this summer gaining hands-on learning experiences with advanced technology through a first-of-its-kind program designed to inspire minority males to explore education and career opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields.

In its 25th year, Toyota’s annual Opportunity Exchange (OE) has resulted in more than $250 million in contracts for M/WBEs.
The two-day event – which included best-practice seminars, panel discussions and a trade show – concluded Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Duke Energy Convention Center in downtown Cincinnati. The reports reveal that these key players in fundamental rights protection and promotion in the EU often lack resources, are not sufficiently independent or have weak mandates. In addition, some of the most vulnerable groups in society are unaware of their existence; only 16% of ethnic minority and immigrant respondents to the FRA's EU-MIDIS survey were able to think of any organisation offering support to people who have been discriminated against. 82% of EU-MIDIS respondents who were discriminated against in the 12 months prior to the survey did not report their experience anywhere.
