Kia Motors America (KMA) today unveiled the refreshed 2019 Sorento SUV at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. Refined, rugged and roomy, the Sorento remains as capable as ever, but touts a number of visual and feature enhancements, inside and out. Aside from new front and rear fascias, which help achieve a more sophisticated appearance, the cabin is now decidedly more upscale and integrates newly-added technology, including Driver Attention Warning,4 Lane Keep Assist1 and QuantumLogic™ Surround Sound. In addition, the Sorento now pairs its available 3.3-liter V6 with a new 8-speed automatic transmission for an even smoother and more seamless driving experience.

Neighbors across the country will soon have an exciting opportunity to help change their communities for the better through State Farm Neighborhood Assist®. This philanthropic program awards 40 causes a $25,000 grant. Anyone in the United States can submit a cause beginning March 9 through March 30. Ultimately, voters will decide which community improvement projects win big.
Returning for its fourth year, State Farm Neighborhood Assist asks individuals to identify causes that would help make their communities safer, stronger and better-educated. Up to 4,000 causes will be accepted. The State Farm Youth Advisory Board (YAB) will then narrow down the field, using a scoring rubric to identify the top 200 submissions. The public will have a chance to vote 10 times a day from May 14 through June 3 for their favorite causes from the list of finalists. The 40 causes that receive the most votes will win a $25,000 grant. The nominations and votes will be accepted exclusively through a free Facebook app.

The iconic Caesars Palace celebrated Independence Day Weekend by paying homage to its colorful history of hosting amazing daredevil stunts with a night jump by the Red Bull Air Force skydiving team in front of the famed resort on Sunday, June 3, followed by a colossal 13 ½ minute fireworks extravaganza.
The festive party began just before sundown with live entertainment on the iconic front fountains. Winner of “American Idol” season five, Taylor Hicks, got the patriotic party started with his popular song, “Seven Mile Breakdown,” followed by “Nineteen”. The roster of live entertainment also included cast members from ABSINTHE and the TSA Color Guard.

As the country celebrates the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, Dallas-based nonprofit Earth Day Texas gears up for its fifth annual event. Founded in 2011, the organization expects more than 75,000 attendees during the three-day event.

Das gilt jedenfalls für die elf handelsüblichen Sommerreifen der Größe 225/45 R 17, die die GTÜ Gesellschaft für Technische Überwachung im Fahrbetrieb praktisch getestet hat. Diese Reifen sind ohne Ausnahme unterm Strich entweder empfehlenswert (7) oder sehr empfehlenswert (4). Dabei begutachteten die GTÜ-Experten gemeinsam mit den Testern des ACE Auto Club Europa die Reifeneigenschaften auf dem Gebiet Sicherheit etwa bei nasser und trockener Fahrbahn sowie in den Bereichen Umwelt und Wirtschaftlichkeit. Dabei überzeugten die Breitreifen fast durch die Bank mit hohen Sicherheitsreserven selbst auf nasser Straße. Bewertet wurden die Fabrikate in insgesamt zwölf einzelnen Kategorien. Aus der Prüfung von GTÜ und ACE ging der Conti SportContact 5 mit 143 von 190 erreichbaren Punkten als Testsieger hervor.
