Thirty-six warriors coping with service-connected injuries will join Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) on a monumental cross-country journey to raise awareness for veteran issues, tomorrow. Soldier Ride Across America – beginning at One World Trade in New York City and ending at Ocean Beach, California – commemorates the 15-year anniversary of Chris Carney’s historic coast-to-coast cycling venture in support of wounded warrior, which spurred the creation of the WWP Soldier Ride® program.
After the first ride, several combat warriors who returned from Operation Enduring Freedom with visible and invisible injuries joined Chris for another cross-country ride. This second trek across the nation united wounded warriors and helped them redefine personal strengths and rekindle the battle buddy mentality so crucial in military service. Despite many obstacles, the group of warriors refused to give up – using the experience as a catalyst to show the public and themselves that with support and motivation, anything is possible.

Eagle Rare Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has named Alana Miller of St. Pauls, North Carolina, as the winner of the Grand Prize 2015 Rare Life Award. Eagle Rare will donate $50,000 to Miller’s charity, Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary, and host an awards ceremony in St. Pauls on March 14.
The Rare Life Award is an annual recognition program created to honor individuals who exhibit courage, leadership, survival, devotion, character and heroism. Jointly hosted by several government departments including the National Tourism Administration of China, the General Administration of Sport of China and the Zhejiang Provincial Government, the 14th West Lake International Expo Hangzhou, China officially kicked off on October 13. Organization of the 22-day event was administered by Hangzhou’s municipal government.
The main venue for the event is located in the heart of Hangzhou, while activities are also taking place at an additional 14 smaller venues located in nearby locations including at the Hangzhou metropolitan economic zone and throughout the Yangtze River Delta. Parking crashes usually don’t result in serious injuries, but repair costs can quickly mount, along with the hassle of going without the family vehicle while waiting for the body shop to finish work. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has launched a rear crash prevention ratings program to help consumers identify models with the technology that can prevent or mitigate low-speed backing crashes. Two systems earn the highest rating of superior, and four earn the second-highest rating of advanced.
Rear crash prevention encompasses several technologies. Parking sensors issue warning beeps and/or seat vibrations when the equipped vehicle gets too close to another vehicle or object directly behind it, or, in some cases, in front of it. Rear cross-traffic alert warns drivers of approaching vehicles that might cross their path as they back up. Rear automatic emergency braking systems detect objects behind a reversing vehicle and may automatically brake if the driver doesn’t heed alerts to stop.
IIHS engineers evaluated rear autobrake systems on six popular 2017 model vehicles — the BMW 5 series sedan, Cadillac XT5 SUV, Infiniti QX60 SUV, Jeep Cherokee SUV, Subaru Outback wagon and Toyota Prius hatchback.
Under the three-tier rating scheme, models with optional or standard rear crash prevention systems are rated superior, advanced or basic. Ratings are determined by whether the vehicles have available rear autobrake and, if so, how it performs in a series of car-to-car and car-to-pole tests with different approach angles. The availability of parking sensors and rear cross-traffic alert also is factored in.
The Outback and XT5 earn a superior rating when equipped with optional rear autobrake, parking sensors and rear cross-traffic alert. The Cherokee, 5 series, QX60 and Prius earn an advanced rating with this optional gear.

This song and video will probably be most appreciated by fellow musicians. Especially those who do programming. This was one of my first experimental songs that I tried out on FL 5 out back in 2005. It was my 3rd composition. This dates back farther than anything that I've previously uploaded to Youtube. This baby was my prototype that laid down the ground work for the simpler projects that I perform now. I wasn't even singing at that time yet. At least not solo. I did however lay down 100 vocal tracks of "Ahs" and mixed them down to 1 track on this 400 track project.
My first goal was to compose an original European style song and learn how to do so on this new program. I decided to use my imagination and give it a live concert sound. For this, I uploaded a lot of various audience sound effects from Limewire. I added my own whistling which I'm sure that my neighbors appreciated. What I amazed myself with was how I was able to take the stock FL hand claps which are usually dry for rap music and transform them into a concert sounding audience clapping, most notably on the drum solo which was another adventure in itself. I cloned as many hand clap that I needed to emulate the sound and altered their pitch and offset their timing for a more human sounding crowd effect.
Knowing that I would want to be very versatile with my percussion work, I figured that a drum solo would be the best way for me to test my potential. I've personally have never heard anything like this on a program like FL or any other virtual program. Normally if I intend to upload an older project, I'll upgrade and replace the older sounds with the better sounds that I use now but I've decided to leave this one exactly the way I had left it...Cobwebs and all. Besides, I have no idea as to how I actually came up with this stuff. It looks like an endless maze of tracks. As far as the video goes....I took out my camera and snapped a few back yard shots. My back yard is beautiful at this time of year.
