The Indexed Annuity Leadership Council (IALC) today unveiled a new initiative that examines the widely varying retirement experience in the United States.
The project, the Changing Face of Retirement in America, is a comprehensive look at modern expectations for retirement and provides regional narratives that show what retirement means for individuals across the country and the economic spectrum, highlighting the impact financial planning can have on retirement.

Allied Universal, a leading facility services company and the largest security force in North America, together with John Jay College and the Metropolitan Healthcare Security Directors Association (MHSDA), will host a “Plan to Live” seminar to educate healthcare providers on best practices to handle an active shooter situation and other threats. The free seminar will be held Tues., May 16, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the college’s Moot Court at 899 10th Avenue, New York City.
“Active shooters are not the only risks that healthcare facilities face,” said Kevin Francis, Business Development Specialist, Allied Universal. “Healthcare facilities may encounter aggressive assailants, bomb threats, and terrorist attacks. Our seminar provides tips and information from leading experts to help them prepare for, survive and recover from an attack.”

St. Catherine Hospital from Croatia has been named as one of the finalists, and Ruban d’Honneur recipients, in the 2016/17 European Business Awards sponsored by RSM.
It is one of only 110 finalists announced after over 33,000 businesses were engaged in the competition, and was chosen by a panel of independent judges because it displayed the core values of innovation, ethics and success.
The company will now undertake an in depth face-to-face interview, and will find out if it is a winner of one of the 11 categories at a Gala Final on May 4 in Dubrovnik.

The Wakefield Research study surveyed 200 law enforcement officers across the U.S. who revealed they've experienced a sharp downturn of new applications to their agencies. More than half (54 percent) of the respondents said the number of job applications to their department has decreased in the last five years. Meanwhile, 83 percent of officers think that it will be even more difficult to recruit new candidates in the next five years.
