The countdown to the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games is on, and Pop-Tarts® has partnered with U.S. Olympic hopefuls and freestyle skiers Torin Yater-Wallace and Maggie Voisin to put a Crazy Good™ spin on the competition. Eighteen-year-old Torin was nominated to the U.S. Men’s Freeskiing Team this week, and is a rising star heading into the Sochi Games. Maggie was also nominated this week to the U.S. Women’s Freeskiing Team – making her the youngest U.S. Winter Olympic hopeful at 15 years old since 1972. At a ceremony today at the U.S. National Archives in Washington, D.C., Monuments Men Foundation Founder and Chairman Robert Edsel donated “Hitler Album No. 6” to the Archive, reuniting it with 39 other “Hitler Albums” recovered at the end of World War II. Chief Archivist of the United States, David Ferriero, accepted the album from the foundation and Monuments Man Harry Ettlinger. Ettlinger represents the historic group honored most recently in Sony Pictures’ THE MONUMENTS MEN, which is based on Mr. Edsel’s No.1 New York Times’ bestselling book of the same name.

The National WWII Museum today opened its newest permanent exhibit: Richard C. Adkerson & Freeport-McMoRan Foundation Road to Tokyo: Pacific Theater Galleries. Retracing the grueling trail that led from Pearl Harbor to Tokyo Bay, Road to Tokyo explores the evolving strategy for fighting relentless Japanese forces in Asia and the Pacific, examining cultural differences, logistical challenges and the staggering range of extreme conditions that confronted American military forces in Asia and the Pacific.
Along with Road to Tokyo, the Museum also opened a new exhibit on the US Merchant Marine. LTJG Ralph E. Crump Merchant Marine Gallery is a stand-alone gallery that honors the mariners who risked their lives transporting weapons, men and matériel to distant warfronts. Features include a video, artifacts, a model of a Liberty ship and an engaging array of personal narratives. The gallery is situated in the Solomon Victory Theater complex, at the end of the American Spirit Bridge – a new glass-and-metal bridge that connects the Museum’s Louisiana Memorial Pavilion with the rest of the six-acre campus for the first time.

In partnership with Men’s Health Network (MHN), Prostate Health Education Network (PHEN), ZERO – the End of Prostate Cancer and Joe Torre, four-time world champion baseball Hall-of-Famer and prostate cancer survivor, Genomic Health, Inc. (Nasdaq: GHDX) today launched Your Prostate Your Decision to educate prostate cancer patients and their loved ones that every man is different and every cancer is unique, and a genomic test can clarify the aggressiveness of one’s disease prior to invasive treatment. This first-of-its-kind national effort aims to address concerning results of a large national survey that found low general awareness about prostate cancer aggressiveness and treatment options, underscoring the need for better understanding of active surveillance as a treatment plan.

Steve Scott became one of the greatest mile runners in American history by taking a strategic approach to his craft. Now 58, Scott is seeking a competitive advantage of a different sort since recently being diagnosed with prostate cancer. Scott publicly revealed his current cancer battle today at the Cougar Challenge, a cross country meet at California State University San Marcos, where he is head coach of the track and field and cross country programs.
