Today, Subaru of America, Inc. debuted its all-new, three-row, 2019 Ascent SUV in a way that only Subaru could. At a press event prior to the Los Angeles Auto Show, Subaru surprised attendees with the new vehicle in a special way – with The Barkleys – a family of eight Labrador and Golden Retrievers featured in Subaru advertising campaigns, seemingly driving the all-new Ascent and ending, safe and sound, on-stage. Roughly 100,000 licensed skin divers are active in Germany. In Frankfurt on the river Oder three clever buffs have just devised a way to introduce the underwater world to everyone. A two-man mini-submarine enables people to submerge without a license and without getting wet. By now submersible Nemo 100 has won awards and attracted worldwide interest. At a cost of about 180,000 Euros the vehicle, produced in a small batch series only, targets a wholly new market for mini-subs: Compared to other submersibles Nemo is a real bargain.
As wars end, the hardship continues. Servicemen are still stationed overseas, families remain left behind and veterans return to an economy stuck in the doldrums. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation’s Return the Favor campaign supports programs and services that work to ease the burden on America’s active-duty military, veterans and their families.
One key part of the campaign is the Unmet Needs Program. The program assists with basic life needs such as rent, mortgage, utilities, vehicle repair, medical expenses or food/basic assistance. It has helped over 3,000 military families and funds are available to all five branches of the military, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserves. Since 2004, the Unmet Needs Program has provided more than $4 million dollars in financial assistance to deserving military families.
